Villa / 2 bedrooms / sleeps 6
Vistas De Loma (The Views of Loma) perches on its own 360 degrees 2,300m2 platform with spectacular views of Lake Vinuela, The Sea and views of the mountains of Sierra Tejera with hillside villages of Canillas de Aceituno, Alcaucin, Periana, Trapiche, etc. Newly built, the characterful 2 bedroom villa has high-specification accommodation for 6.
The main open-plan living space includes a kitchen with every mod-con, a generous dining area with seating for 6 and a beautiful and comfortable sitting area with satellite TV. The green Geothermal energy source installed provides continuous supply of hot water and under floor heating whenever required.
Outside there is its own gated platform, a shaded al fresco porch and 2 roof terraces on which to relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains, lake and sea. You can take a stroll on the terraced farm or the surrounding neighbourhood with spectacular views words cannot adequately describe and an experience I can only describe as therapeutic. This place is ideal for walks, biking and for anybody who enjoys painting in a rural setting.
A 20 minutes drive east takes you to the heart of the totally untouristy village of Canillas with its tiled spring-water fonts and flower-decked winding streets. Here you can enjoy the real Spain with the sights and sounds of this Andalucian gem where everyone greets everyone, the restaurants and bars offer great value and where you might even glimpse the ladies practicing their flamenco!

The build was only finished at the end of March 2008. "The Views of Loma" has two double bedrooms and one bathroom. The extremely comfortable beds are arranged in a single setting but can be easily set as doubles if necessary. They are all individually decorated with spectacular views through the windows. Two large roof terraces offer the most beautiful views. There is also a sofa bed for 2 in the living room. The large elegant living space has a romantic fireplace, a dining area that can seat 6 people and a charming open-plan kitchen equipped with an amazing amount of equipment. Decorated with style, personality and comfort, this property has the added luxury of green Geothermal underfloor heating for the cooler months.
The Andalucia region
The Costa del Sol is sometimes described as the "Lungs of Europe" and comprises many different aspects from the sophisticated holiday resorts in the west such as Marbella and Puerto Banus. There is the commercial and financial centre of the provincial capital, Malaga, and quieter coastal towns in the east that have retained a flavour of their original fishing heritage.
This part of the Mediterranean coastline has been a well-established destination for International tourism since the late 1950's and with its all-year-round sunshine record, broad beaches and good-value life-style, there is something to please everyone. Now, only a short drive away from the coast brings you to the peace and spectacular scenery of a more traditional Spain and its more leisurely way of life, where the dazzling white-washed villages perched and clinging on the hillsides with views and scenery that will take your breath away every single day of your stay and lift the spirits.
At the eastern end of The Costa del Sol, between Malaga and Nerja and up in to the hills behind lies the Axarquia region with its sub-tropical temperatures which ranks it among the best climate in Europe. Steeped in history and having been ruled by both the Romans and the Moors it is a fascinating place to stay and explore.
With just 20 minutes of spectacular driving away from the coast and all its amenities, the tranquil location of Vistas De Loma, deep in the Axarquia region, allows you to take your own pace of life, taking in the crystal air of this outstandingly beautiful area on the doorstep of the Sierra Tejada National Park with spectacular views of Lake Vinuela and the sea.
From here you can take a gentle stroll to admire the sights and scents of Andalucia, do a spot of bird watching, photograph a spectacular sunset or if you wish take a short drive to the beaches of Algarobbo, Caleta de Velez where you can swim or just relax and enjoy the atmosphere. You can even walk up to the top of the majestic La Maroma which, at over 2,000 metres, is the highest mountain in the province of Malaga.
Venture further afield to explore the other 'white villages' in the area; and make for Colmenar, Comares, Competa, Canillas de Albaida, Alhama De Granada with its popular Hot Spars. The enormous caves at Nerja, 25 minutes away, are a must. and Antequera and Granada (with nearby skiing in the Sierra Nevada) are within striking distance.
Don't ignore Malaga which has great character and culture, a fabulous historic centre and sophisticated shops.
Within 20 minutes of Canillas you can be shopping in bustling Velez Malaga or at the El Ingenio shopping mall with its large supermarket and international retail outlets. There are also wonderful street markets on different days of the week in all the local towns and villages.
Two lovely golf courses are within 25 minutes drive. There is sailing on Lake Vinuela and 20 minutes away a fabulous Water Park at Torre del Mar beside the sea where there are many beach bars. Marbella and famous Puerto Banus are within 1 1/2 hours.
