Home description
Alcaidesa is a recently developed village with it's own exit from the E15/A7. Situated at the less developed end of the Costa del Sol, between Sotogrande and Gibraltar it is surrounded by countryside and there are no high rise developments. The house is located in Cotos de Alcaidesa which translates as "secluded enclave".
Just 2 minutes walk from the village square with restaurant, bar and small supermarket, and 5 mins walk to the safe,sandy beach, it could not be more convenient and relaxing. The communal pool with a shallow end for the safety of little ones, is set in beautiful landscaped gardens, all behind remotely controlled security gates for the further safety of children. The house also benefits from its own private garden with glorious sea-views over the North African coastline and garden furniture and BBQ to be able to dine al fresco.
Paradise for golfers as Alcaidesa has 2 golf course of its own and there are many more in the surrounding area, including the world famous, Valderama.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
The fashionable resort of Marbella is approx 30 mins by car or Estepona is 20mins. The elegant port of Puerto Banus is 15 mins drive or Sotogrande 10 minutes. Inland are the stunning traditional Spanish "white villages" such as Ronda, 1 hour by car or one and half hours by train from San Roque station. Gibraltar is 15 minutes by car and Tarifa is 30 minutes.
Alcaidesa area
Alcaidesa offers it's own golf course within about 1/2 mile of the house. This has an excellent reputation, being the only links course in Southern Spain. It has spectacular views over the Mediterranean and Gibraltar, and lessons and club hire are available. (Tel. 956 79 10 40).
There are approximately 40 other golf courses dotted between Malaga and Gibraltar, including the world-famous Valderrama.
There is so much to do in this region apart from seeing the sights and sitting on the beaches. Details can be found on local tourism website: www.andalucia.org -Wind-surfing and Kite-surfing- Tarifa, (approx 30 mins by car) to the west of Alcaidesa, is one of Europe's top windsurfing spots, with strong breezes year-round and long sandy beaches. Equipment hire and tuition available locally. -Whale and dolphin watching cruises available from Tarifa (tel.956 68 22 47) or Gibraltar. -Trips to Africa.-Daily ferries available to Morocco(tel.956 65 11 78) from Algeciras (approx 30 mins by car), then hire a local guide who will show you the sites. -Water Theme Parks such as Bahia Park (15 mins by car) with many pools, slides and excitement! (www.bahiapark.com or 956 63 33 30) -Days out on Gibraltar to climb or ride up the rock and see the monkeys! -Climbing - Mountain Biking - Horse riding - all available locally. -Great area for walking and bird-watching. -Take the train to Ronda or further from San Roque (10 mins by car) -Many wonderful places to eat out in local towns and villages.
How to get there
Nearest airports are found at Gibraltar, approximately 15 minutes drive to the West, or Malaga, serviced by an extensive selection of Budget and Regular Airlines,(eg Easyjet.co.uk and Thomsonfly.co.uk) which is approximately 1 hours easy drive to the East.
Both airports have car hire readily available and this is strongly recommended. Selection of Car-hire company is best made on line to see who is offering the best deals at the time. (It is recommended to search under "Malaga Airport" rather then "Malaga" for your convenience on arrival)

In addition, the property has luxurious marbled floors throughout, with TV, DVD, and air-conditioning/heating. -The kitchen has a large oven and touch-control, 5-ring ceramic hob. There is a dishwasher, fridge-freezer and microwave. -The utility room has a washing machine, with iron and ironing board. -Master bedroom, with sea view and balcony, has king-size double bed which can be separated to 2 singles. -Bedroom 2, with view over the pool, has twin beds and a comfortable fold-away third bed available. -Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. -Luxury en suite to Master bedroom with bath, shower, wc and bidet. -En-suite to Bedroom 2 with bath, shower, wc and bidet. -Separate wc downstairs.
Further details outdoors: -The patio and attractive enclosed garden are furnished with sun-loungers, a dining table, chairs & BBQ which can be covered by an optional sun-awning. This area enjoys a southerly aspect with sea views towards the North African coast-line and Gibraltar. -There is an elegant communal pool set in beautiful landscaped gardens all set behind security gates. -Secure parking is available in an allocated locked garage space.

-All bed linen and bath towels are provided at no additional charge, but we would ask guests to provide their own beach towels. The property will be cleaned prior to and after your visit, but not during.
Conditions
-10% deposit required at booking to hold reservation. Remaining balance due 6 weeks before travel. -All breakages must be declared and paid for.
