About the home

Located in the heart of Albufeira, this large villa is ideal for families or large groups that are looking for a quiet setting with excellent entertainment space. This 5 bedroom villa has undergone full refurbishment with new bathrooms, new tiles on the floor throughout, and all furniture.

All bedrooms and living room are air conditioned.

Property is a short drive to Pinecliffs, Gale, and Guia (where Algarve shopping is located with large supermarket, many shops supplying clothes, shoes, sports equipment, and large cinema with all the latest releases in English) and 25 min drive to Quinta do Lago. The property is surrounded by the best golf courses, lovely restaurants, supermarket is approx 0.5 km away (large supermarket that houses most essential items).

A wide range of sports facilities are available in Albufeira including golf courses, tennis and water sports.

The living room has seating for 8 guests and dining room also seats 6. The outside dining area has a further 6 chairs that can be used either inside or outside to accommodate larger groups.

Kitchen/Breakfast Area:
Fully fitted kitchen including electric hob and oven, large fridge Dishwasher, Kettle, Toaster, washing machine, Microwave, TV, Breakfast Table and chairs. Cutlery, plates and cooking utensils provided.

Dining Room:
fireplace set in stone surround. double patio doors to outside dining terrace and door leading into the kitchen. Dining Table and Chairs to seat 8.

Living Room:
Patio doors to pool area and shady seating area. Doors . TV (satellite).

Bedroom 1: 1st floor – Twin Bedroom with en suite facilities. Fitted Wardrobes.

Master Bedroom 2: Double Bed, Fitted Wardrobes and en-suite with shower/bath/ hand basin located on the top floor by itself with its own terrace. We can provide an additinal single bed if require for maximum occupany of 11 people

Bedroom 3: Twin Beds, Fitted Wardrobes, en suite facilities

Bedroom 4: Double bed, fitted wardrobes, en suite facilities

Bedroom 5: located in the lower ground floor, and has a wardrobe, window and is air conditioned - Please note that you will need to use the facilites of one of the ensuite bedrooms to shower, or the main bathroom.

You can have a relaxing family holiday or a day of golf, sightseeing, activities on the beach or just relaxing by the pool with a glass of local wine. The Algarve Shopping Centre with its numerous shops, cinemas and restaurants is only 20 mins drive away.

BBQ is easily accessible beside the main sliding doors that lead to the swimming pool. Villa Colum is ideal for any social event. It is close to Villa Century, Casa Juliana, Villa Sete for large groups that wish to be close to each other.

When booking any of our villas we will require a 25% deposit with the remaining amount due 56 days before arrival. Payment can be made by cheque, bank transfer, paypal or over the phone by credit / debit card.

Albufeira is one of the top holiday destinations in the Algarve. With its mix of New and Old Town. The old town remains an unusually pretty village with its narrow cobblestone streets, twisting lanes of whitewashed houses and terracotta roofs above a beautiful spread of beaches. In the day time walk around all the local shops and have a drink in one of the many Bar's and Restaurant over looking the picturesque beaches. In the night watch the town come alive with street performers and music . In one of the many great Restaurant's why not try chicken piri piri one of the local dishes.

In the New Town you have late Bars and Discos open in the early hours. With some more great Restaurants. Also don't forget about Slide and Splash, Aqualand, Zoomarine all with in 20min drive and some of finest golf course with in 10min drive.

The Albufeira / Areias Sao Joao area

Albufeira is the largest resort in the Algarve with excellent golf courses within easy reach. Located in central Algarve.

Recommended Restaurant: A Quinta - Located in Loule

It has 300 or more days of sunshine annually. The Spanish border is only 45 min on the A22 Eastward, it is possible to get a ferry to Morroco it approx a half hour crossing.. Vilamoura (resort) is only 10 min away, it is a Golfers and Yachting paradise. The largest shopping centre in the Algarve is less then10 min drive, located in Guia village, "Shopping Algarve" Complex has everything, Cinemas , 10 Pin Bowling Fast food outlets , restaurants + all the main high street shops.On the opposite side of the road to "Shopping Algarve" you have the Retail Park with all your electrical and home needs. Lisbon + Fatima can be seen on a day trip by train from Albufeira station.

Villa Colum is located in Central Algarve in the centre of Albufeira town, beside the strip, old town and within a short walk to Oura beach, and is easily reached by Faro Airport, approx 25-30min drive and average cost of 45 Euros by Taxi. Easyjet, Monarch, Ryanair, British Airways all fly direct to Faro from the UK and Ireland.

Taxi's are available from outside the airport terminal and take approx 35 mins door to door

Car hire readily available. We recommend Easy Car or Auto Europe, much cheaper than going direct to the rental companies.

“Great location - but think about your security! Our holiday was ruined :(” Firsty, the late review is due to us trying to sort out issues following our burglary whilst staying at Villa Collum. I'll try and keep this brief & to the point. We hope that the security of the villa has been addressed following our burglary during our stay in August 2011.You should make sure that all the shutters are fully working, and the bars are totally secure on both the windows and patio doors. Perhaps they have now installed an alarm, if so USE IT. We stayed for 14 nights at this villa, and the latter 6 days were ruined following this terrible incident. You will see the local Police on frequent patrol, now we know why! Have to say we were disappointed with the decor of the villa, however we're guessing this will have been updated since our stay. This villa is in a great location. Response: Thank you for your review. Please note that this is for a stay in August 2011. Unfortunately due to a door being left open, it was reported that there had been items missing in the property. Since August 2011 we have now placed additional fixed metal bars on all windows and metal bars with key locking system on all sliding doors to ensure that this resolves the issue with security. We have not had any further issues since these new measures have been put in place.
