The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The Algarve has a temperate climate almost all year round and boasts over 300 days of sunshine a year. The tourist season extends from March to October and it only really quiets down in the dead of winter. Even then, there are many days when it is warm and sunny enough to sunbathe or sit outside at the pavement cafes and enjoy the balmy weather. The golf season extends from autumn and spring and golfers can enjoy the warm sunny conditions whilst their own courses at home are unplayable. In summer they can receive discounted green fees at many courses.
Albufeira / Encosta da Orada area
Location The complex is on the western side of Albufeira, close to the Dolphin Roundabout on the hill between the Albufeira Marina and the Old Town. It is an 8 – 10 minute walk to each. The nearest restaurants, bars and convenience stores are in Pateo, 3 minutes walk away. The Giro circular bus and ‘tourist train’ both pass nearby at regular intervals. The Albufeira Old Town is a vibrant hub of restaurants, bars, interesting shops, street stalls, musicians and entertainers.
Beaches Some of the best sandy beaches in the Algarve are nearby, such as Fisherman’s Beach, Peneco, Gale, Sao Rafael, Castelo, Evaristo, Salgados and more.
Golf The Central Algarve has some of the finest golf courses in Portugal, including Salgados golf course just 5 minutes away; Balaia and Pine Cliffs golf courses which are 15 minutes drive and the 6 championship golf courses of Vilamoura at 20 minutes away.
How to get there
Faro Airport is 30 minutes away. Airport transfers can be arranged at a total one-way price of €35 for 1 - 4 guests and €50 for 5 - 8 guests. Guestbook for ORA-3B Encosta da Orada
The apartment was fabulous, all rooms bigger than expected and the terrace wasout of this world. No hesitation in saying that we will be back. The grounds are beautiful and the pool area wonderful. I believe ORA-3B to be the best position in the Encosta da Orada complex; lovely large shady area to relax on when wanted and aas much sun around the corner as you could wish for, and fantastic views in all directions.
