About the home

Moinho Velho is a beautiful Quinta style property that has recently been refurbished. The villa is truly unique with plenty of character and far reaching sea views from the upstairs terrace and set in stunning private grounds and bordered on two sides by Sir Cliff Richards Quinta and vineyards next door.

The villa is situated less than five minutes drive from numerous beautiful beaches in a quiet area and is ideally placed for a peaceful holiday and only five minutes walk from the pretty Portuguese village of Guia famous for its peri peri restaurants. Their are also local shops, banks, supermarket and pharmacy etc. There are numerous golf course nearby which we can advise on with further information when you book Moinho Velho.

The villa is furnished and decorated to a high standard and is ideal for large families/groups of different ages and has ample wheelchair access. The villa sleeps ten, with four bedrooms having en suite and the fifth bedroom with separate shower room. There is also a games room with table tennis, PS2 (with selection of games), MP3 player, DVD player (& films), board games etc. Extensive beautifully landscaped gardens with lawns, shrubs and palm trees.

Their is also an orchard providing fresh oranges, lemons, and grapefruit for most of the season (weather and growth permitting). Entire plot is on 2.46 acres. There is also independent air conditioning throughout the villa that doubles as air heating for the cooler months.

The living room has seating for 10 guests and dining room also seats 10. The very large kitchen and breakfast room is fully fitted with AEG Electric Hob, Double Oven, Coffee Machine, two American Fridge/Freezers, two Dishwashers, Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer, wine rack and pantry with shelving.

Entrance Hall:
Double entrance doors opening to a magnificent light and airy hallway with marble floors and patio doors out to a charming enclosed courtyard with fountain. Stairs from hallway go up to the 1st floor Master bedroom.

Cloakroom/Shower Room:
With shower cubicle, washbasin set in a marble surround, WC and bidet, window and marble wall tiles.

Kitchen/Breakfast Area:
Fully fitted kitchen with AEG equipment including Electric Hob and Double Oven, American Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Coffee Machine, wine rack and pantry with shelving. Kettle, Toaster, Microwave, TV, Breakfast Table and Chairs. Cutlery, Plates and cooking utensils provided.

Laundry Room:
American Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing Machine and Tumble Dryer, Secondary Gas Hob and access to iron and ironing board. Door leading out to utility courtyard, rotary washing line, gated enclosed pond and garage.

Dining Room:
Enclosed log burner fireplace set in stone surround. Marble floors with double patio doors to outside dining terrace and door leading into the kitchen. Dining Table and Chairs to seat 10. Crystal Chandelier.

Living Room:
Enclosed log burner fireplace set in stone surround. Marble floors. Patio doors to pool area and shady seating area. Doors to a charming courtyard with fountain. Seating for 10 persons. TV (satellite), DVD and CD/MP3 player. Crystal Chandelier.

Master Bedroom 1: 1st floor – Double Bed with his/her en-suite shower/ Jacuzzi/double hand basins/bidet and dressing room. Fitted Wardrobes. Patio doors leading out to private terrace and balcony offering nearly 360 degrees of views, including the garden, Sir Cliff Richards villa, vineyard and far distant sea views.

You can have a relaxing family holiday or a day of golf, sightseeing, activities on the beach or just relaxing by the pool with a glass of local wine. The Algarve Shopping Centre with its numerous shops, cinemas and restaurants is only 10 mins drive away.

Moinho Velho is a NO SMOKING villa.

For Air-conditioning or heating there is an additional amount of £300 per week.

Moinho Velho has the right to change and update any furniture or fittings. Any pictures shown on this website if the guests should arrive and they are different we will not be held responsible as as we are constantly updating and changing furniture etc to allow for the comfort of the guest and obvious wear and tear. We will always replace items and these could be different from the photos shown.

Pool Heating there is an additional amount of £300 per week.

Beach Towels NOT PROVIDED.

Check in time is after: 3 pm.
Check out time is before 11 am.

Any extension on these times must be notified on booking form otherwise an additional charge will incur.

Midweek towel change, Saturday is bed linen and towel change only. The general day to day cleaning and removal of rubbish is the responsibility of the guests. We allow 3 hours for a general clean on departure. Any cleaning required in excess of this will be charged.

Conditions

Booking Deposit:
A 30% deposit of the total villa hire charge will be required on booking. Full payment will be required twelve weeks prior to rental start date.

All party members are advised that they should have travel insurance and ensure it covers cancellation, charges and emergency assistance, and name it on the booking form.

Please Note : All furniture at M.V is brand new as of July 2009, hence may differ from the pictures shown. it is of the same standard and similar style.

On receipt of your deposit payment we will forward an invoice detailing all items booked by you. The balance must be paid twelve weeks before departure. The person who signs the booking form will be responsible for payment.

A refundable security deposit of £800 will also be required with the full payment balance for any damages found on the last day of handover by our Resort Manager. Once we have received his clearance of their being no damages, repayment will be within 72 hours. Please see our terms and conditions for further information.

In the case of any claim against the security deposit any balance remaining will be credited within 72 hours. You will be fully notified at all times of any pending claim.

Algarve Beaches have been voted some of the best in the World

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Alburfeira resort area which includes Sesmarias, Sao Rafael, Castelo and Vale de Parra to the west, Guia to the north, and Branqueira to the east is a lovely area of countryside and beaches, in an uncommercialised area, dotted with villas of all descriptions, and lots of superb restaurants and golf courses.

The village of Guia is approx 6 km from the main resort of Albufeira, and close to all local amenities and other nearby resorts of Aracao de Pera, Carvoeiro and Vilamoura.

The beautiful Blue Flag beaches of Sao Rafael, Evaristo, Castelo and Gale are all 5-10 minutes drive from Guia. Guia is famous for its selection of restaurants and especially the famous chicken piri-piri dish.

The Albufeira / Guia area

Within walking distance is the Village of Guia with its local grocers, restaurants and banks etc.
Sir Cliffs Richards Vineyard next door, and his Winery 10 mins away.
Algarve Shopping Centre is only five minutes drive away with shops, cinemas, bowling alley and restaurants.

Golf Courses: Algarve has some of the best Golf courses of all differing scales and prices. We have further information on lists of golf courses in the Algarve area and this can be sent to you once booking is made. The local golf course is Salgados, which is 5 minutes drive and is close to the beach. Further information can also be supplied on request.

The harbour town of Portimao is only 15 mins drive along the coast where there is an excellent shopping centre in the old town and fresh fish lunches by the harbour should not be missed.

Flights available by all major / budget airlines into Faro daily. Low cost airlines including Easyjet, bmibaby Thomas Cook and Thompsonfly.com all operate regular services as do BA and the Portuguese airline TAP. Go to the owners website to use links that will help you find good flight and car hire deals.

Car hire is recommended but not essential. When the final rental payment has been received we will send you some detailed 'Arrival' information. This will include details of how to drive from Faro airport to Guia and then to your accommodation - an easy well signposted route which takes less than 45 mins from the airport.
. Whatever time you arrive keys are available for collection at the property from our key safe.

For those who prefer not to drive from the airport our Managing Agent offer a mini-bus / taxi service, . The driver will be from Guia rather than Faro and will know just where to take you. Car hire can then be arranged locally if you wish.

Guia is served by a good bus service and there is a railway station less than 20 minutes away. Taxis are readily available.

Maria Abbruzzese : We booked with you at the very last minute, 5 couples on a golfing holiday (well the men were), us girls loved the house, and gardens, the bathrooms were massive and the house very clean and comfortable, please thank Ray and Dave for chauffeuring us all around, they were great and spoke English too!. oh yeah the Boys loved the golf. We will be back next year with or without the boys.
