Sunshine guest house is located just 10 minutes walk from the beach, on the outskirts of Albufeira, often referred to as the tourist capital of the Algarve. Ideally located in a very peaceful, calm place with a comfortable atmosphere. At the same time, Sunshine has easy access to all amenities. Sunshine benefits a communal pool and sunbathing area where you can chill out. It also has a conservatory where you can delight yourselves with our regional cuisine and house specials. With double rooms and bungalows Sunshine is ideal for families, friends, golfing groups and couples with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The Algarve is hilly, but traversed with rich valleys. Its highest point is the mountain range of Monchique, with a maximum altitude of 906m (Peak of the Fóia).
The coastline is notable for picturesque limestone caves and grottoes, particularly around Lagos, which are accessible by powerboat. Praia da Marinha, Lagoa, was classified as one of the 100 most beautiful and well preserved beaches of the world. The white sand beaches - as Salgados Beach, São Rafael and Galé beach - have top marks on cleanliness.
On the summer months the high temperatures (maximum temperatures in the Algarve fluctuate between 15 and 31 °C) reached attract beach-goers and sun-lovers from around the world. The temperature in the winter months never fall below zero.
It's a popular destination for tourism, primarily because of its beaches, Mediterranean climate, safety and relatively low costs.
Albufeira / Sesmarias Albufeira area
In the immediate area, you have a fantastic choice of beaches and coves. São Rafael is the nearest, being approximately a 10 minute walk, with Coelha e Lourenço being a little further. Gale, a beautiful long sandy beach stretching a few kilometres is about 25 minutes on foot, or just a few minutes by car - this is a fantastic spot to watch the breathtaking sunsets, it is good for swimming and for the energetic a good beach walk. The rest are no more than a 5 minute drive. There are many coves scattered along this part of the coast, some only accessible by foot.
There is golf course (Salgados Golf) within 10 mins drive.Many others, such as the 5 award winning courses of Vilamoura, Vale de Milho, Gramacho and Penina, are no more than a 30 minute drive. In addition, the new course designed by Nick Faldo, Amendoeira is about 15 minutes.
Nearby our guest house is the Marina of Albufeira, colourful place where you can have a meal, do aquatic sports and have good walk.
Less than 10 minutes by car is Albufeira Old Town which has a never-ending choice of restaurants and bars, a beautiful long sandy beach, live music venues, the Square which in the summer months hosts a lot of traditional entertainment, an abundance of shops and altogether a great atmosphere. It offers something for both young and old.
Just a bit further on and you will come to the "Strip" . The nightlife on "The Strip", located near the Montechoro section of Albufeira, proves especially popular during the summer with all ages. Going down "The Strip", the most popular bars include Erin's Isle, Linekers, Cafe Del Mar, Reno's, La Bamba, and Wild & Co. There is also an extremely popular nightclub - Kiss. Kadoc, located around 7 miles away between Albufeira and Vilamoura near the town of Boliqueme, is another very popular nightclub.
There is the town fair on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month. 15 minutes by car you can reach one of the biggest shopping centres of Algarve - ALGARVESHOPPING - you can search there the new trends of fashion and the Retail Park where is the Nike Factory Shop.
Many water parks are within easy reach - Aqualand, Zoomarine (where you can swim with the Dolphins), Slide and Splash, Aqua Show, Atlantic Park. If you haven't got a car, then buses will pick you up from a point a few minutes walk from our place. Here in the Sunshine we sell tickets for Aqualand, Zoomarine and Slide and Splash, making that our guests don't need to stay at the queues.
There are numerous outdoor activities available an easy car ride away - water sports, tennis, horse riding, biking and much more. For those of you who like walking then there are cliff top walks and beach walks.
A local culinary speciality is cataplana (steamed shellfish), a very well known dish from the Algarve region. Caldeirada (fish stew), and the simpler but also popular, grilled sardines, are also very appreciated and are traditional dishes across the entire country, especially in litoral areas.
How to get there
Faro is the nearest airport (about 40 minutes by car). If you need transfer, just phone us and we can get you a mini-bus service that take you to the right place.
