The Algarve / Central Algarve region
Traveling to the Algarve you will benefit from a hot and sunny climate throughout spring, summer and autumn as well as a cool refreshing breeze from accross the Atlantic.
The winter, while warmer than the UK can be at times boiling during the day but at times chilly in the evenings. The Argarve is a beautiful region from the hills in the north to the coastline of long sandy beaches, rugged cliffs and grottoes.
Not only has the Algarve the best golfing climate in Europe it also has some of the best courses and facilities. To the West, Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo courses are within 30 min of the Apartment and Vilamoura a further 15 min further on. Benamor, Quinta de Cima and the Quinta de Ria are within 10 minutes and Castro Marim a further 15 minutes.
Albufeira / Quinta da Balaia area
The Algarve is famous for its golf courses, beautiful coastline and beaches. The nearest golf to the villa is the course at Pine Cliffs that is just a few minutes away. (www.portugalgolf.pt/ingles/ing_algarve_campos.htm) The choice of beaches is endless, from long sandy stretches backed with dunes to small rocky coves, some with little beach bars where you can have a leisurely lunch of barbecued sardines with a glass or two of local wine/sangria. There is a famous wetlands nature reserve nearby with an array of beautiful birds.
There are some exciting water slide parks within a five minute drive as well as the famous Zoo Marine with its wonderful dolphins. Zoo Marine is one of the only venues in Europe where you can swim with the dolphins.
There really is so much to do in the Algarve, you’ll never be bored.
