The Algarve / Central Algarve region
Falesia Beach is midway along the Algarve Coast between Vilamoura and Albufeira. A striking feature is the Red Sandstone Cliff face which affords magnificent views over the sea. On top of the cliffs and all around the area are sweetly scented pine trees. There are gently graduated wooden steps down to a 15k. golden sandy beach .The beach has a cafe and Sun bathing facilities are provided in season. From here walking west at low tide, for half an hour you will reach the little fising village of Olos D'Agua. If you walk to the East,for an hour on the beach you will arrive in Villamoura. The cliff path east is very pleasant ; if you continue for one hour you will reach Villamoura. Olos D'agua is a five minute drive and has entertainment and restaurants;there are typical Algarvian rock formations here. Villamoura,a twenty minute drive, has a large Marina, with hotels restaurants and a fine beach.Vilamoura is famous for its four Golf Courses; Old Course, Millenium, Laguna, and Victoria.Consessions are available to residents of Pine Sun Park. Albufeira is a busy holiday resort which combines the charm of an old town with its narrow streets, old fishing harbour, quaint fish restaurants with a new town with all the entertainment and commercial facilities of a modern resort. The beaches are sandy and feature the rock formations which are so much part of the charm of the Algarve.Taxis are readily available and reasonably priced. I
Albufeira area
Across the road from the Pine Sun Park, is the Village, a pretty shaded square with restaurants ( they also do take out), cafes bars, sports shop, gift shop and supermarket. Water sports, fishing, and day tours to local market towns and mountain villages can be arranged.Festivals , concerts, and art events are listed in local free cultural magazine available in travel agents and from our agents office.
