Home description
The popular family holiday complex Clube Albufeira is located 2 km from the famous sandy beaches and picturesque old town with its cobbled streets lined with shops, bars and restaurants. On site there are 3 superb pools, 2 restaurants and bars, mini golf, tennis courts, BBQ evenings with entertainment. The 24 hour reception has telephone, internet, ATM, stamps and the multi-lingual staff can arrange car hire, taxis and discounted green fees at various golf courses nearby, as well as information on excursions and activities. There is a free shuttle bus to town, buses leave every half hour outside or a taxi is 5 euros. Walking takes about 20 minutes. Zoomarine, where you can swim with dolphins and the Splash waterpark are great for children.
The apartment is situated less than 100 yards from one of the pools and main restaurant but is not overlooked. The living/dining room opens onto a sunny private balcony where you can dine or BBQ al fresco. It has a double sofa bed, additional seating, table and chairs, cable TV, DVD, Stereo. The twin bedroom also has a small balcony. There are two bunk beds built into an alcove off the hallway perfect for children. .

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The Algarve is famous for its extensive sandy beaches, many of which have the EU blue flag for cleanliness and safety. The mild climate has little rainfall and plenty of sun. The food is delicious and inexpensive with choices ranging from local specialities and fast food to international cuisine. The modern motorways make driving a pleasure, Spain and Lisbon are only 2-3 hours drive away. Of course Portugal is a haven for golfers, there are 26 courses in the Algarve, many of professional standard.
Albufeira / Club Albufeira area
Albufeira has a choice of several beautiful sandy beaches with rugged coves and bays within easy reach. The entire seafront is pedestrianised, making seaside strolls very attractive. The old town has a picturesque quality with narrow cobbled streets lined with exciting shops, bars and restaurants all at prices much lower than the UK. During the summer it has a great resort atmosphere with buskers and artisan stalls in the street by day and plenty of entertainment at night. The shopping complex has a cimema, bowling alley and hypermarket nearby. Zoomarine, where you can swim with dolphins and Splash Waterpark are exciting excursions for children. Golf, horse riding, water sports, fishing, sailing, surfing and cycling are available, plus its a great region for walking and bird watching. The lovely mountain village of Monchique, Moorish Silves with its castle and Vilamoura marina are easily reached. A major local festival is held on 14th August with a procession along the seaside promenade and a midnight firework display over Fisherman's Beach.
Clube Albufeira is a family friendly complex 2 km from the town centre and beaches. It is a safe haven for children with 24hr. security personnel, CCTV cameras and lifeguards on duty at the pools in high season. The 24 hr reception with its multi-lingual staff has telephone, ATM, internet access and they can help with booking taxis, car rental, excursions and discounted green fees at various nearby golf courses. The resort has 3 superb landscaped pools, restaurants, bars, tennis, mini golf and mini-market.

Further details indoors: The apartment has fans and wall heaters in addition to the open fire for the winter months. The bedroom has a built in hairdryer with vanity unit/mirror and there is a safe fixed in the fitted wardrobe for your security. The well equipped kitchen also has a freezer compartment in the fridge, an electric juicer for those bags of oranges sold so cheaply by the roadside and a toasty maker. The living room has a selection of books, games and DVDs. The CD can play MP3 discs. The TV is cable. A clothes airer can dry your towels in the sun on the balconies. Linen is changed each week and towels twice a week.
Further details outdoors: Two of the superb 3 pools have a separate children's play pool, the largest has 2 jacuzzi tubs and 1 has a heated pool in winter. They have plenty of poolside sun beds, umbrellas and showers. Each poolside restaurant or snack bar serves chilled cocktails, beer, soft drinks, ice cream and snacks. There is mini golf, a children's play area and well stocked mini-market with fresh bread, drinks, newspapers and much more.
The main O Pavilhao restaurant is open all year and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner enabling you to enjoy delicious international and local cuisine with fresh fish and shellfish daily. English Sunday roasts are available and a weekly BBQ is held in high season with live music and entertainment. Guests may also use the facilities of Camping Albufeira (access by footbridge) with its tennis courts, football pitch, supermarket, craft shop, take-away, pizzeria, self service buffet and traditional restaurant.
