About the home

This pretty 4 bedroom Portuguese style villa is located in a quiet location between Albufeira and Guia.

It has a good size pool (9m x 4.5m) surrounded by a paved area with plenty of space for sun bathing. There is a shaded barbecue/terrace area ideal for al fresco dining.

The accommodation itself is homely, cool, spacious and well equipped. It sleeps up to 12 people.

Most amenities are within a 10 minute drive or less, including a huge choice of restaurants in Albufeira and Guia, a choice of beautiful beaches; water parks and Algarve Shopping Centre (a big shopping complex with cinemas, food hall and bowling alley).

If you want something more traditional and away from the hustle and bustle, but within easy driving distance of all amenities, then this is a great location for you.

All Bedrooms are en suite. The ground floor houses 2 of the these - 1 with a double and single bed looking out to the pool area and the other with a double bed with patio doors to the pool area. On this floor there is also the cosy lounge and dining area, a well equipped kitchen leading out to the barbecue area and a shower room with WC. On the 1st floor there are 2 further en suite bedrooms, 1 with a double and single bed and the other with a double bed. There is also a separate balcony with countryside views.

It is well equipped house and for those of you with babies 2 cots and 2 high chairs are supplied.

Further details outdoors:
There is a good size pool (9m x 4.5m) and large sunbathing area set in a position to catch the sun all day. The terrace by the pool has a large fixed marble table and chairs and if you wish for a bit of respite from the sun there is a shaded barbecue area. This is gated off from the main pool side, making it safer for children.

All around the house there are borders of shrubs and plants providing privacy.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve is one of the sunniest places in Europe, with over 3,000 sunshine hours per year. The summers can be hot, but there is usually a refreshing breeze by the coast. Spring and Autumn is an ideal time for outdoor pursuits, such as golfing, biking, walking. The winters are mild and very often sunny, but do expect a few rainy days any time between October and March.

The Atlantic coastline offers a spectacular variation of scenery from dramatic limestone cliff formations surrounding tiny coves, to long, flat, sandy beaches ideal and safe for family holidays.

Go inland, and the mountains of Monchique provide a totally different viewpoint (and on some days a totally different climate) to the coastal areas. The terrain here makes it ideal for all types of activities, from off–road biking, hiking and quad biking to walking and simply enjoying the spectacular scenery.

The western facing side of the Algarve is certainly worth a visit. The beaches are beautiful and clean and the scenery fantastic – but be prepared for more wind and colder water! A favourite spot for windsurfers.

Go east of Faro and you will find the Ria Formosa, a protected part of the coast cut off from the sea by sand–spits, forming large areas of marshlands and lagoons teeming with wildlife.

Further east beyond Tavira the coast runs off towards Spain with mile after mile of Golden flat sand.

The Albufeira / Guia area

The villa is located between Albufeira and Guia.

All amenities are within a 5-10 minute drive including a fantastic choice of beaches at Albufeira itself and the coast from São Rafael to Galé, where you will find a mixture of small picturesque coves backed by high cliffs and long sandy stretches of beach safe for children and swimming. Most of the beaches have sun beds available for hire, and there are a variety of water sports on offer. All beaches have good restaurants/bars.

For restaurants you have a great choice either in Guia or Albufeira. Guia, although only small, has more than 40 restaurants to choose from. It is the capital of Piri Piri chicken – a traditional Portuguese spicy chicken dish. In between Albufeira and Guia there are a number of typical Portuguese restaurants dotted along the road. These are only a few minutes in the car.

For Shopping, “Algarve Shopping” is only 5 minutes away. This houses a large supermarket, a variety of shops, an 8-screen cinema, a bowling alley and food hall.

Albufeira itself is a bustling resort with an abundance of fantastic beaches and coves. There are two parts to the town - The "Old Town" and The "Strip". Although developed over the years the Old Town has retained its charm and character and offers something for all ages. There is a huge choice of good bars and restaurants, a variety of live music and an assortment of shops. Its beaches are long and sandy. The Strip and the surrounding area are relatively newly developed and very popular with the young with many bars, restaurants and clubs which line the street. There are some lovely beaches down this end of town including Praia da Oura and Santa Eulalia.

Golf courses are plentiful along the Algarve, the nearest being Salgados, which is a 10 minute drive. The 9 hole courses of Balaia and Pinecliffs are about 20 minutes in the car. Others, such as the 5 award winning courses of Vilamoura, and in the opposite direction Vale de Milho (near Carvoeiro), are no more than a 30 minute drive

Many of the Algarve’s attractions are within easy reach – Zoomarine (where you can swim with the dolphins), Water parks, Krazyworld, numerous excursions, safari trips, diving, horseriding, tennis and much more.

Faro is the nearest airport - 40km and the journey from the airport to the house takes about 40 minutes. Many airlines fly to Faro e.g. Monarch, Easyjet, Ryanair, British Airways, Jet2, Aer Lingus, BMI Baby, Thomson Airways, TAP Portugal, Transavia, Air Berlin, Lufthansa, Europe Airport, Brussels Airlines, Jetairfly. Take a look at www.skyscanner.net. This compares all prices and takes away the need to initially log on to separate sites individually to see which airline is flying and when.

Airport Transfers and Car Hire can be arranged if required. If you don't wish to drive from the airport or require a car for only part of your stay we can arrange for a hire car to be delivered to the villa.

Lisbon is about 2.5 hours by car and there are good rail and coach links (both very cheap).
