About the home

Apartamento Rosa is situated mid-way between Albufeira’s quaint Old Town and the Strip. It has a separate bedroom with two single beds, and in addition two double sofabeds in the living area, which also boasts satellite TV. There are local cafes and a mini-mart close by and within 10 mins walk you can find all necessary amenities including the fabulous beach and a wide variety of restaurants, bars and shops.

Our other identical apartment, Apartamento Petunia is right next door so please ask us for more details about renting both homes together.

The separate bedroom has 2 single beds and in addition there are 2 double sofabeds in the large bright and airy living area, which also contains a kitchenette with a hob, fridge and washing machine. The living areas have patio doors leading onto a spacious balcony.

Further details outdoors:
The apartment is on the second (top) floor, hence you can be assured of no noise from above. The shared pool, with free sun beds, is for the use of residents only and provides a safe environment for relaxation. The apartments provide a welcoming holiday base for families and couples alike. All necessary amenities are within 10 mins walk.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

Albufeira takes its name from the Moorish word Al-Buhera, or Castle-by-the-Sea, and despite the famous earthquake of 1755 it has managed to retain some of its original Moorish features. The Moors turned it into a prosperous port trading with North Africa, and following the Christian re-conquest of the town in 1250, it developed into a quaint little fishing village typical of the Algarve. Albufeira is now a popular resort with good restaurants, bars, long avenues of shops and beaches that rank amongst the best in Europe.

Summers are hot and dry and winters are mild with hardly any rain. Temperatures range from 15ºC in January up to 28ºC or more in July and August.

The Albufeira / Oura Beach area

Albufeira is a "once upon a time" fishing village known for its lovely beaches, numerous shops, bars and fine restaurants. Its quaint town square is an ideal place to relax with a drink and watch the world go by. There is always something to see, whether it’s the square’s famous Charlie Chaplin statue, the Pierrots and street artists or the haunting sounds of the pan pipes. If that’s just too relaxing for you, follow the cobbled streets and search out a bargain at the local boutiques and handicraft shops.

Albufeira is a family friendly environment, with children welcome in restaurants and bars, water parks nearby and zoomarine within a short distance by road.

For those wanting a busy nightlife visit the new part, known locally as “the strip” with lots of bars, clubs and discos with excellent music. Another popular tourist attraction is Albufeira’s New Marina, only 1.5kms away and harbouring over 400 boats with many shops, bars and restaurants.

For the golf lover the nearest course is Balaia Golf Village approx. 2.5 kms away with many top courses within easy reach.

21st September 2011: Sue, Apt. Rosa – Apartment great spent a lot of time near pool. Old Town lovely wanted to do more but got sunstroke. But will come again.

27th August 2011: Roy, Cathy, Abbie & Joe, Apt. Rosa – Had a lovely holiday here apartment great. Spent a lot of time round the pool and kids loved it. Zoomarine is well worth a visit. Swimming with the dolphins excellent. Old Town also worth a visit, some nice little restaurants. Thanks Andrea & Matt.

12th August 2011: Tina, Paul & Family, Apt. Rosa – What a nice clean apartment. The weather was fantastic. Very hot at night. Old Town is lovely. Would love to come back again kids loved it, left a few things for next guests, thank you. Try Chinese buffet at side of Charlie’s Bar. Two boxes to take away €8.95.

Although pool was ideal & spent most days here. Old town was well worth a visit too. Would definitely recommend the “Sizzling Stone” restaurant on the Strip (head towards bottom of strip, turn left at the roundabout after “Wild & Co” bar. The food there is different class from other places, they’re in a totally different league! Excellent staff & beautiful food which you cook on a stone in front of you. Brazilian World Cup fans are crazy in celebration style! Very entertaining to watch! Hope to return some day, had a wonderful holiday. Thank you!

May 2010: The Butlers, Apt. Rosa - Apartment OK. Drank in “Fat Cats” turn left from apartment, over the road from Fat Cats is the pastry shop try the custard tarts! We ate in “La Concha” turn sharp right from the apartment block head for the 3 palms roundabout take the Albufeira road for only 200 yards on the right. Apartment has everything you need. Washing machine brill, iron, even a hair dryer.

11th October 2009: Luiza & Ian, Apt. Rosa - Great place to stay during our search for the “perfect” quinta in Algarve. Loved everything here as it was central to everything. Your apartment has everything we needed for short stay. Weather was just like we are used to in sunny lovely South Africa!!! Will return…thanks!

The marina was lovely + go to Chilli Bar for yummy Mexican food. Watching the ‘bull boys’ riding the mechanical bull at Matt’s Bar is a must! Take the train to the old town for a lovely beach, but avoid a cocktail called ‘Green Summer’ at all costs! Thank you so much for a great holiday – enjoy Portual 2009!!
