Quiet and peaceful, the apartment has easy access to all amenities, including many excellent restaurants for eating out and bars also, Oura (5 minutes walking). You can be totally car free because everything is within walking distance. There are two beaches near the apartment: Praia do Forte de S. João (0.7 km) and Praia da Oura (0.9 km).

The apartment benefits from a shared swimming pool and garden.

Leading from the large living/dining room, or the bedroom and the kitchen, is a balcony with view to the swimming pool, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to eat outside.

With one master bedroom, two twin beds in a private space on the large living room and one sofa bed, the apartment is ideal for families or small groups, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

The apartment is toddler friendly and there is a cot. The kitchen is fully equipped. The apartment has wifi internet at no additional cost.

The Algarve region

Situated on the extreme South of Portugal, this part of the territory was the last to be conquered from the Moors by the Portuguese king in 1292. Traces of the Moorish presence are still seen in its unique architecture - terraces, chimneys and whitewashed houses.

The Algarve region has beautiful beaches with the majority having gained due recognition in the form of the EU "Blue Flag" for quality standards.

Along its 200-kilometre coastline, the Algarve features a diversity of landscapes, like coves, cliffs and caves, its rocky beaches contrasting with broad expanses of sand. Different types of beach, but all bathed in the calm, warm seawaters of this coastline.


The Albufeira Coastline is made up of more than 20 different and beautiful beaches with fine sand and the crystal clear and warm ocean water that captivates bathers from all over the World.

Its extraordinary climate, with more than 3000 hours of sunshine per year and the friendly charm of its people persuade many foreigners to move residence to the region, either temporarily or permanently.

The borough of Albufeira receives a considerable percentage of the 5 million tourists who visit the Algarve annually however Albufeira is not just a “Tourist Capital” in Portugal. It is also an area full of history, with vestiges of human occupation since the remote Neolithic and Bronze ages.

The Old Town is 15 minutes walk away and The Infamous Strip with hundreds of bars, restaurants , discos and shops is just 150 meters away. The area of Areias S. João (Oura) offers lively and social nightlife (lots and lots of animation). You can enjoy beautiful beaches, varied water sports, golf courses (Balaia Golf Village, Pine Cliffs and Salgados), glorious countryside and many restaurants with local and typical cuisine.

The Zoomarine (entertaining and educational oceanographic facility) in Guia, with dolphins and tropical birds shows, and fairground rides is only a short car/bus ride (20 minutes).

"Excellant Apartment"

We stayed at David and Ana's apartment at Areias-Mar from 10/8/13 to 24/8/13
.They both waited at the apartment for us to arrive and proceeded to explain
everything concerning the apartment and surrounding area.We can recommend the Panacee restaurant which is more than less opposite the apartment, Walkers bar which is not very far away and Farnels steak
restaurant which is just off the Strip.David & Ana went out of their way to
look after our suitcases on our last day after having to leave the apartment
at 12 mid-day.Thank you once again.

"Comfortable Apartment, Good location, secure Parking, excellent owners"

Arrived at the appartment late on Sunday evening as agreed to be met by both David & Ana.

They took their time to show me around the large and spacious apartment, which was more than big enough for me as an individual. The apartment could sleep up to 6 if the group included a couple. Realistically one bedroom for 1 or a couple (double bed) and then 2 beds plus the 2 sofas as additional beds. Though not a problem for my single stay and something I would consider for a Lads golf weekend, the layout with the 2 beds cordoned off Japanese style in the large living area would give everyone an idea of the layout up front.

As well as the Sofa area pictured there is an equivalent area from the main entrance with Large dining table and a side board.

Note the Shower in the bathroom is more than just an addition to the bath and has various settings, Drench, normal and jets, very welcoming for someone who was struggling with a shoulder problem at the time.

The kitchen is large and adequately supplied Including Large Fridge Freezer, Kettle Toaster, Microwave, hob oven etc. There is a seperate Utility area including a wsahing machine.

There was ample Cupboard storage (hanging and draws) for the advertised number of occupants

The Balcony will catch the Afternoon to sunset sunshine and looks out over the pool.

Exit from the front of the building is at ground floor level and is ideally placed centrally within Albufeira and takes a few minutes to hit the middle of the strip, passing several good restaurants on the way.

There are local coffee bars and a hairdresser / sports massage studio 50 yards from the building as well as a portugese "diner" pay by the weight within 200 yards. Main Supermarket is 1 Km away so a short walk or 2-3 mins by car.

Very clean, ideally located apartment, which is good value for money, having spent many holidays in Portugal in larger groups in villas, I did not feel that I had compromised by my choice of this accomodation despite its good value, I would definitely return and use this again, and it gave me everything I was looking for, easy access to the whole of the Algarve (East, played golf looking over to the spanish border, to West, beaches). Yet could then come home in the evening and had a wide variety of options for eating out and socialising without the need to use a car, which was safely parked in the secured parking area.

BTW - I would not normally give out a 5 but could not fault this property on any front as it met all my expectations.
