About the home

Beautifully furnished 2 en suite bedroomed townhouse, both with balcony, in quiet location but close enough to all the attractions of Albufeira and surrounding areas, shared swimming pool, gardens and barbecue, own large patio area and furniture, private parking for up to 2 vehicles. Albufeira old town is 3 minutes drive or a 20 minute walk.
The house was recently completely refurnished so everything is like new. Also has satelite tv for those who wish to relax at home.
Suitable for families, golfers or people seeking to relax in the fantastic Algarvian sunshine.
Remote controlled entrance gates makes the condominium very safe and private.

Only 6 other 2 bedroomed houses are located on this condiminium, so there is always a relaxed family atmoshphere and never any over crowding.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

Plenty to do close by, whatever you want, relaxation, beaches, many local attractions, golf, sightseeing, horseriding, excellent water parks are also in the area.
Zoo marine is a MUST to visit, also Slide and Splash or Aqua Land. There is a 'coolbag' in the house, so pack yourselves a picnic and off you go!!
Albufeira old town and Fishermans Beach 15mins walk away, where there is also an abundance of bars, lots of lovely restaurants, shops, and street entertainment. The town is great for all age groups



Taxi fare into the town is approx 3/4 euros.

The Albufeira / Quinta Dos Calicos area

Zoo marine is only a few minutes away in the car, so are the popular water parks, the busy marina is close by, as is the famous fishermans beach.
A night out in the Old Town is highly recommended as there are many good restaurants and bars with a very relaxed feel to the area.

Most budget airlines fly into Faro airport which is approximately 30 minutes drive from the townhouse in Albufeira.
From the airport pick up the A22 towards Lisbon, come off at at junction 9 and follow the signs for ferreiras and then Albufeira and the road N395, Calicos is on the left just after the campsite.

“christmas” weather excellent nothing much to do in area no walks,excellent if your a sun worshiper,lovely resturant at end of road people very friendly .White goods a little iffy especially washing machine ,for me personally far too built up but if your lucky with the weather and your looking to be close to the town then its for you Response: Thank you for your comments. I have taken on board your comment about the washing machine and have now arrange to replace it with a brand new one as the other one (which is only 2 years old) seemed to have a mind of its own! However, we've had no other complaints about any of the other white goods. As regards 'nothing to do in the area' I make it very clear before people book that it is in a quiet area, but that it is very central to all attractions - most visitors comment that they didn't have enough time to do and see everything! Like most holiday resorts, a lot of places close down in the winter and especially Christmas week which is when you were there. I would love you to return in the spring/summer when you would see Algarve at it's best and I could recommend some good walks. Thank you for your custom.

“Lovely Location and Home” This is now the second year we have stayed in this home. We have now recommended the villa to friends with young families. There is everything you need in the Villa. The Villa is close the the Old Town of Albuferia, about 20min walk down a lovely garden walk containing picnic tables and park benches. fThere's a cycle and running track running along the side and through the park. Close to the Villa you have a Portugese Restaurant, good food and value for money. There's a supermarket close and a Spar type shop and cafes close to the garden walk. From talking to friends who have been to Portugal Albuferia and the Old Town is the best place to be for families and things to do. There is plenty of restaurants and street entertainers. The Villa is well layed out and for those towanting to keep in contact with home there is Uk freesat tv. If you are worried about not having a car there is no need for one. Kevin who is recommended for transfers will also take you to wherever you need to go.

“loved it” The villa was beautiful, was a home away from home. We really appreciated the CDs which were there as we had forgot ours and they were really up to date. Cathy was a pleasure to deal with and Kevin the driver was great, we arrived after 14 hours (delayed in Scotland due to ash cloud and had to be bussed to Leeds and fly from there) and Kevin took us to the villa, dropped our bags off then took us to the restaurant at the bottom of the road for food and drinks (we ended up eating there most nites, food is great and people cant do enough for u) The villa was private and safe and we had the pool to ourselves every day which was a huge bonus. We had great weather and loved walking in to old Albufeira every day. Would def go bak

“Modern accommodation in peaceful but not remote location” We have just returned from our 12 night stay at Casa Catarina. The standard of accommodation was excellent- just as the pictures on website depict. The booking arrangements with owner before and during the holiday was very efficient and polite and the pre-arranged transport from the airport was prompt. As we have two young children the benefit of the enclosed site was perfect as was the close proximity of the beautiful pool to the patio. Although all the neighbouring houses were accommodated during our stay- mainly by Portuguese people, who were all very pleasant and friendly, the area, and the site were very peaceful. I was dubious about the location at first as it was the furthest from the centre that I had ever stayed; however the downhill walk is well lit and it really only takes you 15-20 mins to stroll into the main square in Albufiera- for those of you who haven't been I can only describe it as a mix of old cobbled quaint streets with a cosmopolitan feel due to the street performers and the market stalls and tourist shops and cafes scattered around. Having been spoilt by such a wonderful location since the age of 11, I am very reluctant to book a holiday anywhere else in Europe. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing holiday with a 'home from home' feel, and enjoy eating in restaurants whilst 'people watching' you wouldn't be disappointed by booking this accommodation. “Great villa, home from home!” Thanks to Cathy for letting us stay at your great villa, we've been doing villa holidays for 6 years now and this is one of the best. The layout is great and you know the children are 100% safe. Location is great too, with 2 small children we had a nice flat 15 minute stroll to the old town. the local restaurant A Cocheira is recommended, great value for money. The pool was quiet and we had it to ourselves most days. I would also recommend a visit to zoo marine. It was the best day out and Kevin was great taking us there and picked us up from the airport etc., Thanks again, we will definately return to Casa Caterina when we next visit Albufeira. Just a quick e-mail regarding the holiday. We had a fantastic holiday, Villa and location are fab. We noticed that they are putting a new footpath in that will run from the campsite to the town so next year it will be easier to walk into town or the beach. We all loved the villa, especially the kids. It was nice how we could walk out onto the patio area and watch our Gracie play round the pool. Even or Luke liked to lay next to the pool (hanging over the edge) and to splash. I think Gracie must have been in the pool just about everyday. The weather was brill, only had 1 day of rain. Everything that we needed was catered for.
We all enjoyed zoo marine and the kids loved the beach and the pool.

Kev was brill, as I said on the text, he called round on the Tuesday night to let us know that the flights were cancelled (due to the valcanic ash!!) and that the airport was reopening on the night. He called me at 06:30am on the Wednesday to let me know that flights were back to normal. He also lent us some car seats so that my dad could run us down to the beach and the town which was very nice of him.
Anyway, we all had a fab time and thanks for your help and advice. Definitely planning to go back the same time next year so just waiting for the cheap flights to come out again and then we will book the villa again (hopefully if available)

Depression has set in and we are only back two days. We had a fab ten days in your beautiful house, you thought of everything and the directions were brillant. The house is in a fantastic location nice and quiet but easily accessible into the town. We would love to go back next year
All in all 10 out of 10 for the holiday. Many thanks for everything and hopefully you will be hearing from us again when we have afew pounds saved.

We are hoping to return to the Algarve again this year and might rent your villa yet again!!! subject to availability - sharing with our two grandchildren / son / daughter in law.
Can you give a indication of the cost - their flights were booked way back last year so would prefer these dates. Alice and I would probably just stay for about week with the lowest priced budget flights in that timescale determining our dates.
