The Algarve / Central Algarve region
Plenty to do close by, whatever you want, relaxation, beaches, many local attractions, golf, sightseeing, horseriding, excellent water parks are also in the area. Zoo marine is a MUST to visit, also Slide and Splash or Aqua Land. There is a 'coolbag' in the house, so pack yourselves a picnic and off you go!! Albufeira old town and Fishermans Beach 15mins walk away, where there is also an abundance of bars, lots of lovely restaurants, shops, and street entertainment. The town is great for all age groups
Taxi fare into the town is approx 3/4 euros.
Albufeira / Quinta Dos Calicos area
Zoo marine is only a few minutes away in the car, so are the popular water parks, the busy marina is close by, as is the famous fishermans beach. A night out in the Old Town is highly recommended as there are many good restaurants and bars with a very relaxed feel to the area.
How to get there
Most budget airlines fly into Faro airport which is approximately 30 minutes drive from the townhouse in Albufeira. From the airport pick up the A22 towards Lisbon, come off at at junction 9 and follow the signs for ferreiras and then Albufeira and the road N395, Calicos is on the left just after the campsite.
