A beautiful ground floor holiday home with a private enclosed terrace directly overlooking the magnificent main pool and recreation area of the Orada Apartments.
Situated close to the new Albufeira Marina, our apartment is the largest one bedroom unit on the Orada resort and more spacious than several of the two bedroom units.
Our apartment occupies an enviable position, we are end terrace which is mainly shrub bordered with grass areas beyond making it private and safe for children.
As a holiday home we use frequently ourselves you will find our apartment equipped with all modern comforts and appliances, including 40" plasma TV, satellite, and media centre.

Indoor entertainment is provided with a large flat panel TV combined with a video on demand Media Player with over 120 films available in various genres to cover all tastes. The media player will also play discs containing MP3 and WMA files, local KissFm English speaking radio is received through a tuner amplifier. Around 12 English speaking TV channels are also available including BBC1, ITV3, sport, news and current affairs programs.
A selection of books and magazines (English) are available in the apartment and other reading material in various languages is available to borrow from the reading room in reception.
The lounge has one Z type sofa bed and the second sofa that can also be used for sleeping.
Telephone connects to reception; an outside line is not available.

Accommodation is self catering; rates include a weekly linen and towel change for stays in excess of seven days. Guests should bring their own beach towels.
A mid week clean, if required can be arranged if booked and paid for in advance.
A welcome pack containing essentials like Bread, Butter, Milk (semi skimmed), 5 ltr. bottle of water, tea, coffee, sugar, ham, cheese, seasonal salad item and seasonal fruit can be booked in advance if required at a cost of €30.

Bookings can only be confirmed once a cleared deposit has been received.
Check in time is from 15:00 onwards.
The apartment needs to be vacated no later than 10:00am to facilitate cleaning for the next guest arrival.

Our holiday home is located in a prime position overlooking the central pool and landscaped areas of the Orada resort and is a very a very short walk away from the attractions of the Marina wharf, restaurants and bars. At last count (May 2011) wireless internet was available free to customers from 5 bars and restaurants making the Marina Wi-Fi friendly from end to end to those guests wishing to keep in touch with home, friends and social networking sites.
The Orada Resort and Albufeira Marina are situated to the west of Albufeira and just a short 15~20 minute walk away from the historic Old Town, it's restaurants and narrow streets.

The Algarve is the Portuguese equivalent to the American Florida or southern California. The sun and sea dominate the atmosphere of the Algarve, bestowing on it the ideal qualities of a holiday paradise and making it the "Garden of Portugal". The area has over one hundred miles of the finest beaches in Europe and enjoys around three hundred days of sunshine a year. The region is dotted with Moorish villages with white washed houses and seafood in abundance.
One such resort is the town of Albufeira which is arguably the most popular Algarve destination for holiday makers. This is because of its established infrastructure and tourist attractions. Many tourist attractions like Zoomarine (the only place in Europe where you can swim with Dolphins), Slide & Splash Water Park, Aquashow Family Park, Jeep Safari's, Sea Cruises and water sports too numerous to mention have sprung up and are easily accessible from Albufeira.
Every town of any size has a permanent covered market, which opens every day except Sunday from 8am until around 1pm. There are usually separate areas for wet fish and for fruit and vegetables and some have butcher’s shops around the perimeter of the market hall. Larger markets also have stalls selling home-baked breads, cheeses, etc. Markets attract gypsies and peasant farmers who set up ad hoc stalls in the nearby streets and sell absolutely anything. Albufeira has a large market not far from Lidl and only a few miles from the Marina complex.
The Albufeira / Albufeira Marina area
Orada is a purpose built tourism and leisure complex which has been created in line with the highest standards and specifically designed to be enjoyed year-round. Restaurants on the adjacent Albufeira Marina include Italian, Traditional Portuguese, Fish, Seafood and Sushi providing relaxing and romantic dining. Orada reception has it's own snack bar, reading room, games room, internet access and toilet facilities for guest use.
Activities like Daily Cruises, Cave Exploration, Diving, Parasailing, Jet Skis, B.B.Q and Sunset Cruises, Big Game and Reel Fishing can be booked on the Marina. Or why not get picked up for a tour and tasting at the vineyard where Sir Cliff Richard produces his Vida Nova wine which is only a 10 minute drive or short taxi ride from Orada.
The complex is serviced by the Giro bus link leaving every 30 minutes from a stop just 50 metres from the reception area. 2007 saw the introduction of a tourist train which runs every 30 minutes from the marina to the Old Town. Other transfers can be arranged at reception to locations like Algarve Shopping for around €5.
Just 30 minutes from Faro airport and a stone’s throw from the charming old centre of Albufeira, is located one of the most attractive and bold architectural developments built in Portugal in recent times. The daring architecture of Tomás Taveira, the inspired urban planning of Sidónio Pardal and the gracious landscaping designed by Broadway Malyan, come together as a daring, though perfectly harmonious, whole to create an extraordinary milestone for European architecture and design.
Idyllically located on a coastal plain surrounded by low hills, this low residential density development is set in 65 hectares of land. Over half of this area is covered by landscaped gardens and paved pedestrian paths sheltered by many lines of trees; another 20% of the area is occupied by the lake and the Marina’s wharf. Overall, less than a third of the total development area is taken up by buildings, streets and parking spaces.

What a fantastic place to stay. The apartment is brilliant with everything you need for a great holiday. The location is excellent, with a massive pool on the complex and easy access to the old town and fishermans beach. The owner was great to deal with and answered any questions we had. Everything was as expected and I'd definitely book again. |

This apartment is obviously the owners holiday home, the quality the finish the decor and the equipment make you really feel like you are in a home from home. The Orada resort is beautiful the central area has a fab pool and plenty of room for sunbathing, there is also a very shallow kids pool where parents can relax. All in all it exzceeded our expectations and we will definately be back. |

Back again for the 4th time, (first time in April) Some April showers but they didn't dampen our spirits. Apartment, restaurants and locals were as lovely as ever. We had a lovely 10 days and looking forward to coming again.

Hi back again for the third time, apartment and complex as lovely as ever. Had a fantastic holiday, the weather was lovely for the whole two weeks. It was great to be able to use the swimming pools, the children loved it. Look forward to returning soon.

We had a fantastic week here and only wish we could stay longer. We walked in to the Old Town for dinner most evenings along a very pretty route which only took about 15 mins. The weather was perfect, very hot but with a lovely breeze by the pool or along the coast. We loved Sao Rafael beach. Thank you for letting us use your lovely apartment xxx

We had a great week. Complex was lovely and quiet and what a fantastic swimming pool and beautiful landscaped lawns. Apartment was best we've stayed in, has everything you require, a home from home, We really loved the decor. If you are able forget about the bus or taxi and walk to the Old Town. Takes about 20 mins, starts off high up over the marina, then fab views out over the Atlantic followed by the narrow quaint streets of the Old Town. Summary : Faboulous Apartment, Great Holiday.

Loved the apartment, great for a self catering holiday. Had a day out at Zoomarine, Fantastic,(€10 each way in a taxi) Well worth it as you need a whole day there, open 10 - 7pm. Worth taking parasol and cool box and setting up camp near pool and then wandering off to see shows, Dolphin show was excellent. Great to have a bath, weren't expecting that but handy for our 2 and 4 year olds. - Hope to be back, Thank You.

Great week, no need for a car. Giro bus extremely punctual, on the hour and half hour. We took a ride to Lidl and saved a fortune. We also took a taxi ride to Sao Rafael beach €4 and returned in the apartments shuttle bus. Loved the walk into Albufeira!!! - Loved the Media System!!!. Thank you.

We returned from a holiday in the Algarve in April 2009 and were determined to stay in the Albufeira area again (we stayed on the strip last year). Within a few weeks of returning home last year we had this place booked and it certainly was worth the wait. I know some people find the Orada complex garish but we all thought it was fantastic. All the areas are kept clean and the staff are all very helpful and friendly even when I turned the TV off in reception. The pool was best described as refreshing but the kids enjoyed the smaller pools. The multi media centre was also great as it enabled Mum + Dad to have a relaxing lie in instead of having to referee the battle of the siblings. I would thoroughly recommend hiring a car to get out and about and see the Algarve. Silves was beautiful and the Roman Villa at Vilamoura is also worth a visit. It's also worthwhile looking at the boats in the marina to see how the other half live. As mentioned the apartment was very well turned out and one last little small item could be a small picture of our benevolent hosts, something to tip a wink to as we leave. All in All 10/10 and thank you.
p.s I liked the TV and all the movies, Get Smart and the Harry Potters were best - Sam, age 8
