Set amidst orange and olive groves, the Quinta Da Saudade is a small, privately owned, converted hillside farm estate in 24 acres of beautiful grounds approximately 5 miles west of Albufeira and 35 minutes drive from Faro Airport. The Quinta has many facilities to offer,including 2 pools,separate childrens play area with paddling pool,tennis court,mini golf,petanque and riding stables.
The original farmhouse has been converted to an independently run restaurant and bar.
This semi detached 2 bedroom villa has fantastic views from the roof terrace of the wetlands nature reserve,with its wealth of bird and plant life and of the sea,the nearest beach,Praia Grande ,being less than 2 minutes away by car.
The roof terrace is a real suntrap where you can relax all day in the privacy and peacefulness of the Quinta and enjoy a BBQ as the sunsets.
Zoomarine and various water parks are nearby with Salgados golf course under a mile away.
The villa offers accommodation for up to 6 people and is furnished in local Portuguese style with air-con and a log burning stove for the winter months.

Cobbled paths and steps lead from the villas to all parts of the Quinta. Not suitable for wheelchairs, although once inside the villa everything is on one level.

Changeover day is Thursday with entry to the Villa after 3pm and vacation by 10am. Different days will be accommodated if possible.
During winter months a meter reading will be taken and clients charged accordingly for electricity. Logs can be supplied and charged separately, though they can be purchased cheaper at local supermarkets.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Discounts are available for longer term winter lets. A 20% deposit is required when booking, the remaining balance must be paid at least 6 weeks before arrival date. Cheques or online payments will be accepted.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
Portugal is situated in the far western corner of Europe and has a strikingly long beautiful coastline. The Algarve’s extensive coastline is blessed with a wealth of long sandy beaches and small sheltered coves .The Algarve benefits from the best climate in Europe, with year round blue skies, around 3000 hours of sunshine a year and usually only a short period of rainfall between November and March. The climate of the Algarve is milder than elsewhere in the country not only because of its southerly position and proximity to Africa, but because of a protective chain of hills along its northern boundary and the influences of the sea. Temperatures in the Algarve generally range from 15 degrees to around 31, but never dip below freezing in the winter.
This combination of climate and coastline means that the Algarve is tailor-made for tourism. The sunshine and the beaches are the biggest draw, but in recent years the building of a host of superb golf courses along with an increased interest in rural holidays has developed tourism into an all-year-round business.
The Albufeira / Vale de Parra area
Thanks to an ever-growing tourist industry, Albufeira has become one of the most desired holiday destinations in Europe.Here there is a mixture of the historic and traditional flavour of the Algarve with cobbled streets and picturesque leafy town squares.With its superb variety of restaurants, bars and shops, the Old Town is a very safe family orientated area.
Vale de Parra is to the west of Albufeira and has some of the Algarve's finest beaches. The best known is probably Galé, a vast expanse of golden sand with restaurants and water sports, including jet-skiing and parasailing. Galé can get busy in the summer months, but if you turn down any of the tracks along the coast road you are likely to find a secluded beach or bay. To the west of Vale de Parra is where you will find Quinta da Saudade , a mature estate of privately owned villas with a restaurant and bar. It is only five minutes from the beaches and just above Salgados Golf Club.
Further west is Armacao de Pera; a typical Portuguese fishing town. Part of Armacao de Pera beach remains known as 'Fisherman's beach'. Here you can see brightly coloured boats sitting on the sand with local fishermen tending their nets. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the town with most serving fabulous locally caught fish and of course Chicken Piri Piri! Armacao de Pera can be quite lively in the evenings with bars, shops and restaurants along the promenade. On summer evenings the promenade also hosts many craft stalls where you can shop for souvenirs whilst enjoying the warm Algarvian sea breeze.

This is an excellent , well maintained & extremely well equipped, spacious 2 bedroom villa on an established, quiet and unspoilt complex which in itself, provides excellent facilities and surroundings. The pool areas are clean with all the required amenities,the gardens, buildings and grounds are all well cared for & looked after by all the staff at the Quinta. Everyone is extremely friendly & helpful
The villa offers comfort, privacy & the opportunity to relax in a quiet location with excellent views from the lounge, bedroom or roof terrace across the Quinta, wetlands & coast.
It is a pleasure to sit on the roof terrace & listen to or watch the horses ride out to the wetlands for their daily trecks! or enjoy a glass of wine of the an evening and watch the sunset over the hill
Maid service is provided & everything is spotless, plenty of storage, comfortable clean beds, & good bathroom facilities.
Booking is easy, & adequate information is provided by the owner to ensure that your stay is trouble free. There is a restraunt on the Quinta site (although this was not visited so unable to comment on what was on offer). There are plenty of other very good restraunts in the vacinity of the Quinta, although a car is needed to get these.
We have visited this area for a number of years & stayed in excellent villas of very high standards. This 2 bedroom accomadation takes a lot of beating & if peace, tranquility and relaxation is needed then this is the place to go !

We stayed at Villa 3B in early October for 2 weeks. The villa was nicely furnished with a well equipped kitchen and the daily maid service was a real bonus. The bedrooms were a good size although the beds were plenty firm enough for us. The roof top terrace is well equipped with panoramic views to the coast. The complex itself is in a quiet location and is only a short drive to the nearest town. The owner, Christine, was very helpful and answered any queries we had promptly. We had a great stay, the weather was fantastic and we would not hesitate to book this villa again.
