An apartment complex a cut above the rest. Solario de Sao Jose is set in a sunny position and the place to be if you want your holiday base to be full of optional amenities amongst a quiet stylish and friendly atmosphere. It has a large refreshing swimming pool alongside a separate kids pool.
The T2+1 self catering apartment is fully air conditioned and heated, making it ideal for year-round self-catering holiday rentals. A wonderful apartment for a romantic holiday or for young families.
Apartment is furnished to a high standard with all mod cons, WIFI can be provided at a small charge, fully fitted kitchen, Cable TV, dvd player, Jacuzzi bath, hair dryer, security features and safe.
Our apartment has 3 bedrooms. Main bedroom has a 5ft double bed, a twin bedroom and a small 3rd bedroom with a single bed for a 5th guest. Our apartment does not have 'z' beds / couch beds in the living space. I also have a cot for a baby if required which I do not charge for.

There is also a roof top terrace with bbq. The long balcony off the master bedroom and living room, which is directly opposite the pools, is perfect for enjoying an evening sundowner.
The complex is safe and secure with many leisure facilities, making it ideal for families with young children or teenagers, or for a romantic holiday. DVD’s, books, games and c-beebies will keep the children entertained.
Our 3rd small bedroom is available at a small charge of £30 for a 5th guest. We do not have 'z' beds or couch beds in our apartment.

The apartment complex has squash courts, gym, game room, main pool, children's pool and play area.

If you feel energetic feel free to use the on-site gym and sauna whilst the kids amuse themselves in the games room or playground. The complex has a gated secure coded entrance system and is totally pushchair and wheel chair friendly.
What makes Solario different is that it holds a relatively small amount of apartments in contrast to the luxury that it offers. This property is centrally located in Albufeira in a quiet area but within easy walking distance of stunning sandy rustic beaches, local or international cuisine, bars and shops and the other local amenities of Albufeira. Sit back, relax, whether you are young, old, a couple or family you will be pleased to know this property has everything you could wish for.

Our 3rd bedroom is a small single room and we charge 30pounds for this bedroom to be made up for a 5th guest. We DO NOT have sofa beds or 'z' beds. A baby cot can be provided on request and free of charge.
The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The Algarve is renowned for it's stunning beaches. The nearest beach to our apartment is less than 20 minutes walk and as the crow flies, 600meters. There are plenty of activities in Albufeira, zoo marine, aqualand, slide and splash to mention a few. Plenty of day boat cruises to choose from to explore the algarve coastline and caves. The Algarve shopping center is only 5 minute taxi journey for anyone wishing to have a little retail therapy!
Our apartment is ideally positioned for golfers; just 5 minutes drive to Balaia and Pine Cliffs golf courses and 10 minutes drive to Salgados and the 6 world class courses at Vilamoura.
The Algarve is one of the premier golfing destinations in the world and has over 30 courses to choose from
Local amenities within a 2-3 walk include large Pingo Doce supermarket, bars, restaurants and taxi rank.
The Algarve weather is excellent for most of the year, giving approx. 300 days of sunshine which peaks in July and August. I have visited during the winter months and enjoyed temperatures of 18 - 21 degrees, which for us Irish and English is shorts and t-shirt weather.
The Algarve is renowned for it's award winning golden sandy beaches. Oura, Averios and Fishermans beach are about 20minutes walk from our apartment. Gale and Salgados beaches are 2 other stunning beaches nearby and are only a short taxi drive away.
Portugal is also know for its historical beauty and churches, the most famous being Fatima where 20,000 visitors go daily during the summer. There is also the walled city of Lagos built by the Romans in 200bc. It's importance was because of it's fishing and harbour and still has it's cobbled streets.
The town of Vilamoura is about a 10 minute drive from Albufeira and has over 1000 boats moored there. You can visit the Roman ruins in Vilamoura for €1.50
The marina in Albufeira has all the daily boat trips, fishing trips, dolphin watching, caves and activities to suits everyone young and old!
The Albufeira / Areias Sao Joao area
There are opportunities to enjoy all water sports, golf and horse riding.
The Zoo marine sea life centre is close by, together with a large Waterpark, Slide and Splash and the huge Algarve Shopping Centre to satisfy any 'Retail Therapy' needs!
If you want to get away from the coast for the day then a drive to Monchique and Foia (the highest point of the Algarve) is highly recommended. On the way you could visit the castle in Silves and stop for lunch of chicken Piri-Piri in the small mountain town of Monchique. It will take you less than an hour to get there.
Two large shopping centres are 'Algarve Shopping' in Guia and 'The Forum' in Faro just 20-30 minutes by car. The Algarve Shopping is a large mall which is approx. 5 minutes drive away. Taxi costs from Albufeira 10euros each way. Here you will find a variety of shops, a big supermarket, a bowling alley, a multi-screen cinema (most films are in English with Portuguese sub titles) and a food hall.
Alternative ways of exploring the Algarve are by joining one of the many jeeps that head out each day (high season) to explore the unspoilt Algarve.
There are plenty of great boat trips leaving from Albufeira every day. You can choose from a full or a half day and this can often include a trip into the caves and grottoes of the beautiful Algarvian coast line. If you fancy a drive into Spain then the border is only a 50 minute drive and Seville approx two hours depending on traffic.
As the Algarve spans a large area with wonderful sights and attractions, car hire is highly recommended to explore, but not essential as Solario is located a few minutes walk to the center of Albufeira.

The Solaria is in a central location, with approx 10min walk to strip & 20min walk to Old Town. Well stocked supermarket 2 min walk away, with bars & restaurants in the area. The aparment itself is very comfortable & the facilites in the complex will keep active kids / teenagers occupied no problem. Unfortunately the pool was closed for repair during our week but we had alternatives as we had firends in the area. I would not hesitate to recommend this apt & the owner Shirley was great to deal with, sorting out taxi transfers etc. Response: Thank you so much John for taking the time to write a wonderful review of our apartment in Solario.
