The Algarve region

The Algarve is a popular destination for tourism, primarily because of its beaches, Mediterranean climate, safety and relatively low costs. Everywhere you go, you are surrounded by bright colours, from the golden sands, to the crystal clear waters, the clear blue skies, the vivid green grass, and the white-washed walls of the buildings in the Algarve's old towns.

Along with the famous coastlines of the Algarve, there is also plenty of history and heritage to soak, up, and this can be easily found by those who venture a few miles inland into the old towns.

The Algarve also has plenty of sports on offer:

**Huge array of watersports

**Famous golf courses

Albufeira is the tourist capital of the Algarve, boasting golden beaches, luxury holiday resorts, golf courses, great restaurants and a lively nightlife. Albufeira is *the* town of the Algarve.

Once the sun sets the centre of Albufeira comes alive with bars, like the very popular Travellers Rest. There are restaurants and shops to suit most tastes from authentic Portuguese fare to Irish pubs and sports bars. Local culinary specialities are cataplana (steamed shellfish) and caldeirada (fish stew), and the simpler grilled sardines.

Albufeira is a great base to explore the region with many smaller and less well known beaches within a short drive.

"Lovely location"

Very clean and tidy apartment. Was met at the airport by Harry who showed us to the apartment and showed us were everything was. The welcome pack was lovely.

Apartment is in a lovely location and only a short walk to the local shops and bars but further enough away not to be awake all night by the music etc. The balcony and sun lounges are excellent for an early morning sunbath (sun goes behind block around 1 o'clock when we head of to the beach). We have been 3 years on the trot and have booked again this year.

The only downside is no lift but the exercise up and down the stairs does work off all the food and drink.

"The padio is the best part"

Average flat with a few minors:
- the refrigerator is very smal even for two persons
- the freezer was'nt cool enough to make icecubes
- the two singlebeds cant be arranged side by side

On the plus-side the padio is very nice, with both table, chairs and sunchairs. No evening sun though. But especially in the morning it is simply lovely!

Thankyou for your review, we have taken on board the issues noted and have put a new fridge in the apartment. The two single beds in the bedroom can be placed together, although access to the second shower room is then a bit of a squeeze past the beds. Hope you enjoyed your stay and would be happy to welcome you back to the Algarve in the future.

"perfect location"

This apartment is all about the location and view from the balcony. Slap bang in the old town and just a minutes walk to the beach and bars/restaurants.Below the apartment block is a small grocer selling bread, wine etc. The view from the large balcony is fabulous and most of our time was spent there nipping down to the beach when it cooled down. The rooms in the apartment are adequate although some complain it gets hot at night but we left windows open to get a cool breeze. Plumbing can be a bit iffy - but hey this is Portugal! This was our second stay and won't be our last. Not suitable for disabled or the infirm as there are 3 flights of stairs and the lift never works. The owner can arrange for guests to be ferried to/from the airport.

Thanks very much for taking the time to post your review. We would be more than happy to welcome you back in the future.
