This luxurious apartment was completed in 2003. It is spacious and tastefully appointed. The apartment is set in a quiet location within the stunning and immaculately maintained grounds of Balaia Golf Village, only 30 mins drive from Faro Airport.
The lounge and bedrooms are both comfortable and spacious. Both master bedroom and lounge open onto their own south facing patios & overlook the putting green & driving range. There is ample patio furniture including sun loungers. There is satellite TV giving English & other European channels and a video recorder.
It is close to all golf amenities, restaurant and 1 of 6 pool areas. The apartment is an ideal centre for the perfect family holiday or golfers alike.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The Algarve has hot summers but being on the Atlantic coast generally enjoys a pleasant breeze. Winters tend to be mild but evenings can be chilly. There are many first class restaurants, as there are golden ,secluded, sandy beaches. The Portugese are very friendly and happy to help. Remember to visit Marufo's restaurant situated between Almancil & Quartiria.
There are many places of architechtural interest nearby. The old town of Albufeira is worth a visit, as is the marina at Vilamoura where one can admire the yatchs of the rich and famous. Alternatlively, try a bit of sea fishing or just cruise down the coast on an old sailing ship. A short journey inland will reveal the quaint villages of the old Portugal. Why not try a trip to the local vineyard?
Albufeira / Balaia Golf Village area
GENERAL.... Reception is open 24 hrs. and all the staff speak excellent English and are always more than helpful. Reception offers currency exchange & will arrange airport transfers, taxis, baby sitting etc. There is also an internet facility. Reception will also deal with any problems that may occur within the apartment during your stay.
SHOPPING... A range of shops are available next to the main entrance of the village and comprise of, supermarket, gift shop, hairdressers, beauty salon, newsagent and medical centre. A mini bus service runs into Albufeira Old Town.
AMENITIES... At the entrance to the village, near reception, the restaurant 'A Varanda' offers good food at a reasonable price. There is often live music here in the evening. Two of the swimming pools and the clubhouse have restaurants and snack bars. The snack bars at the pools only open at peak periods.
Balaia has its own health club and offers a heated swimming pool, gym, steam room, jacuzzi and massage room. Small charges apply and should be made direct to reception.
There are 4 all weather tennis courts and are charged at12.00 euros per hour. Tuition is available.
There are also 6 superb, and immaculatly maintained outdoor swimming pools. Most have a toddlers shallow area and all have sun loungers and parasols, all free of any charge.
GOLF... Balaia Golf Course is often reffered to as 'A Little Gem' and it is. It is well presented with excellent greens and tees. Whilst it is only a 9 hole par 3 course it will certainly sharpen your short game! The longest hole measures 160 mtrs and the shortest is only 64 mtrs but this is your opening shot over water into a small green. Play the golf course in par and you have done well !! Golf shoes with soft spikes are required to play the course as well as the usuall dress code. The driving range is excellent. There are also 3 putting greens, chipping area and practice bunkers. Group and individual lessons are available from the golf academy.
The superb clubhouse offers a pro's shop, locker rooms, club and trolley hire as well as a restaurant and snack bar, complete with a relaxing terrace overlooking the first tee.
All the other top golf courses i.e. the Vilamoura courses, Vale de Lobo , Quinta da Lago, Pineros Altos and San Lorenzo etc., are within easy reach of Balaia. Most of these require you to make a reservation in advance. Reception can do this for you and they can usually obtain discounted green fees. Enquire at reception on arrival or 'phone 00351 289 570 200 if you have a confirmed reservation at Balaia. It is essential that you have a handicap certificate with you and have soft spikes in your shoes. Without these you will not be able to play these amazing courses !!
SURROUNDING AREA... Abufeira is a lively and interesting town with plenty of bars restaurants and clubs etc.
A short drive away there are cinemas showing English language films. Ten pin bowling and designer shops are also available in this area.
Further afield is Zoo Marine and the Algarve Zoo, both well worth a visit. Water parks are plentiful and good fun! Scuba diving is also available locally as is horse riding and safari drives. There is always something to do, or, just lie and soak up the sun if you prefer!
There are plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity.
How to get there
Fly to Faro - Balaia Golf Village is approx 30 mins drive. Jet 2 offer reasonable flight prices from Leeds Bradford, Manchester & Blackpool. Other low cost airlines fly to Faro.
Car hire is available from, www.worldgarve.pt at very good rates.
Balaia offer return transport for a fee.
Taxis are always available at the airport but we recommend 'ANTONIO' . His telephone number is 00351918798411 if calling from the UK. (His English is very good!) The fare is approx 50 Euros one way.

Central heating refers to the electric heaters provided. Jacuzzi refers to the whirlpool bath in the en-suite bathroom. Private tennis court refers to the four courts on the complex. Smoking not permitted in the property but of course feel free to smoke on the patio etc. Please respect the plastic patio furniture and fire hazard to the surrounding grounds in this matter.
