Casa do Sino is a three bedroom family villa situated in the desireable Quinta dos Alamos residential development just a few minutes walk from the popular village of Guia. The villa lies at the end of Rua das Pedras, a cobbled, tree lined cul-de-sac offering seclusion and tranquility, giving direct access to a large grassed area ideal for children to play in. The villa has a spacious courtyard for car parking, and extensive tree and shrub planted terracing leading to a private pool with shower. The tree-shaded verandah provides relief from the mid-day sun and a place to relax with a bottle of wine over an al-fresco lunch prepared on the barbeque , whilst the roof terrace is the place to take in the late afternoon sun and enjoy the view of the Monchique with an evening sundowner.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
The Algarve region stretches along the entire length of the southern Atlantic coast of Portugal, below the line of the Monchique mountains which separate it from the wine growing Alentejo region to its north. Cape St. Vincent to the west is the most south-westerly point in Europe and for this reason the Algarve benefits from long hot summers, and warm temperate winters although the mercury falls rapidly on a winters evening. For the most part the coastline to the west of Faro is rocky with secluded sandy coves and many stretches of long sweeping sandy beaches.
Albufeira / Guia area
The village of Guia lies 8km inland from the seaside resort of Albufeira. With its narrow streets and typical Portuguese architecture it offers all amenities; bars and restaurants, supermarkets, post office, butcher and baker, and a new medical centre. The newsagent has internet and video rental facilities. Guia is famous for its many cafes and restaurants offering meals to suit all pockets; the speciality of the area "Chicken piri-piri", locally caught seafood, and a selection of traditional Algarvian dishes as well as other international favourites. There is a daily fish, fruit, and vegetable market, and a regular visiting gypsy market. Cliff Richard's residence and vineyards are 500m away. Within fifteen minutes drive from Casa do Sino are the popular beaches of Castello and Gale with their bars and restaurants, offering all types of watersports, .. or the rocky coves and secluded beaches of Benagil, .. or the bustling holiday resort of Albufeira, .. or the golf course at Salgados, .. or the recently opened Algarve Shopping Centre with hypermarket, boutiques, multi-screen cinema, ten pin bowling, fast food outlets, and restaurants ..
How to get there
Quinta dos Alamos is a secluded residential development on the outskirts of the village of Guia, located some 38 km from the airport of Faro. Ask us for a route map. The journey takes around 40 minutes following the new expressway in a westerly direction towards the seaside town of Portimao. Faro airport is served by both scheduled and budget airlines as well as charter operators from all regions of UK and Europe. A car is recommended for touring the Algarve and both local and international rental agencies can provide a range of vehicles for collection at the airport. Quinta dos Alamos is located on the road just after the village of Guia in the direction of Albufeira. Casa do Sino is located at the end of Rua das Pedras in the Quinta dos Alamos.

Further details indoors: Casa do Sino offers single level accommodation with one twin bedroom with en-suite bathroom and shower and sliding doors leading to the terrace and pool, one twin bedroom and one double bedroom sharing a bathroom with shower, and one separate shower room. Both bathrooms have "his and hers" wash hand basins. All bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and windows fitted with sliding mosquito screens. The kitchen has a marble breakfast bar and is fully equipped with gas cooker, large refrigerator / freezer and separate freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, kettle and toaster, iron and ironing board, and all crockery, cutlery, and utensils. The dining area has seating for six and the lounge area has two settees and two rocking chairs. The digital satellite television receives Portuguese programmes as well as all BBC, ITV and Sky free-to-air channels and comes with a DVD/CD player. Wi-Fi internet access is available for your laptop. All rooms have air conditioning / heating (see tarrifs) and the living room has a log burning fire for chilly winter nights. An Information Book is provided with further details about the villa, the facilities in Guia and the surrounding area, as well as useful telephone numbers.
Further details outdoors: The sliding patio doors from the living room lead onto the covered verandah and terrace. A teak table with seating for six or more provides the perfect opportunity for al-fresco dining. A built-in barbeque is conveniently located near to the kitchen. The gated external staircase leads up to the roof terrace (not for children) where sun loungers and chairs can be placed, and which is ideal for secluded sun bathing, peaceful relaxation, or simply to enjoy the views. The garden terracing leads to the 9m x 4.5m blue mosaic tiled heated pool (see tarrifs). The pool has its own outside shower and the terracing is equipped with sun loungers, tables and chairs. A selection of children's inflatable pool accessories and toys are normally available.
Local attractions within 30 minutes drive of Casa do Sino (House of the Bell) include: secluded coves and long sweeping beaches, international standard golf courses, horse riding, Zoomarine Park, Big Splash water slide park, Krazy World Zoo, all forms of water sports centred around the beaches and the Albufeira Marina including swimming, snorkelling, scuba, sailing, jet skiing, water skiing, game fishing and sea cruises. Our local agent, Santomero Lda., can assist with all bookings if required.
The towns of Albufeira, Lagoa, Villamoura, Loule and Faro can all be reached within half an hour, whilst Portimao, Cape St Vincent and Lisbon, and Seville in Spain, are all excellent for day trips or overnight excursions.

Santomero are conveniently situated in the village and will attend quickly to any queries that may arise or to any problems that may occur. They can also make reservations and book tickets and excursions at discounted rates. Vivien will handle all booking formalities resulting from enquires on this website. A Welcome Pack of food essentials and a bottle of wine will be provided for Guests upon arrival to get your holiday off to a flying start. A baby cot is available if required, and our maid, Celina, will attend Casa do Sino for basic cleaning three times a week during high season. Linen and towels are included and are changed weekly.

Regrettably pets are not permitted and Guests are requested not to smoke inside the villa.
From August 2007 pool heating will be available and you will be able to enjoy the swimming pool 365 days a year as well as benefitting from off-peak rental rates (see Tarrifs).
