About the home

Casa do Sino is a three bedroom family villa with a separate children's room, situated in the desirable Quinta dos Alamos residential development just a few minutes walk from the popular village of Guia. The villa lies at the end of Rua das Pedras, a cobbled, tree lined cul-de-sac offering seclusion and tranquility, giving direct access to a private grassed park area ideal for children to play in.

The villa has a spacious courtyard for car parking, and extensive tree and shrub planted terracing leading to a safety-gated lower terrace with private pool with shower. The shaded veranda provides relief from the mid-day sun and a place to relax with a bottle of wine over lunch prepared on the barbecue , whilst the roof terrace is the place to take in the late afternoon sun and sit and enjoy the view with an evening sundowner.

The villa offers single level accommodation with one twin bedded room with en-suite bathroom and shower, and one twin bedded room sharing a bathroom with shower with one double bedded family room with separate attached children's room leading off with bunk beds and two cot, and one separate shower room. Both bathrooms have "his and hers" wash hand basins, showers, and bidets, and a hair dryer.

All bedrooms have built-in wardrobes and windows fitted with sliding mosquito screens. The kitchen has a marble breakfast bar and is fully equipped with gas cooker, large refrigerator / freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, kettle and toaster, iron and ironing board, and all crockery, cutlery, and utensils. The dining area has seating for six persons and the lounge area has two settees and two rocking chairs. The digital satellite television receives Portuguese channels as well as all BBC, ITV and Sky free-to-air channels, with a DVD/CD player.

All main rooms have air conditioning / heating and the living room has a log burning fire for the chilly winter nights. The children's room has a standing fan. An Information Book is provided with further details about the villa, the facilities in Guia and the surrounding area, as well as useful telephone numbers.

Casa do Sino has been accredited with its tourism licence by the Albufeira Town Council assuring our guests that the villa complies with the required standards of accommodation, furnishings, and safety.

Further details outdoors:
The sliding doors from the living room and bedroom 1 open onto the covered verandah and terrace leading to the pool. A teak table with outside seating for six or more provides the perfect opportunity for al-fresco dining. A built-in barbecue is conveniently located close to the kitchen.

The gated external staircase leads up to the roof terrace where sun loungers and chairs can be placed, and which is ideal for secluded sun bathing, peaceful relaxation, or simply to enjoy the views. The garden terracing leads to the 9m x 4.5m blue mosaic heated pool and outside shower. The terracing is provided with sun loungers, beach towels, tables and chairs, and a selection of children's inflatable pool accessories and toys are normally available.

Local attractions include numerous secluded coves and long sweeping beaches, international standard golf courses, horse riding, Zoomarine Park, two water slide parks, Krazy World Zoo, and all forms of water sports including swimming, snorkelling, scuba, sailing, jet skiing, water skiing, game fishing and sea cruises, centred around the many beaches and the Albufeira Marina .

The towns of Albufeira, Lagoa, Vilamoura, Loule and Faro can all be reached within half an hour, whilst Portimao, Cape St Vincent, Lisbon, and Seville in Spain, provide excellent opportunities for day trips or overnight excursions.

All enquiries will be welcomed, and we aim to respond within 6 hours. Rental conditions are set out in an easy to understand Rental Contract, a copy of which will be provided on request.

A Welcome Pack will be provided to get your holiday off to a flying start. A baby cot is available, and we will carry out basic cleaning including towel changes twice a week during high season. Beds will be changed weekly.

Conditions

Regrettably pets are not permitted and Guests are requested not to smoke inside the villa.

Pool heating is available most of the year but is not normally required during June - September.

Living Room

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve region stretches along the entire length of the southern Atlantic coast of Portugal, below the line of the Monchique mountains which separate it from the wine growing Alentejo region to its north. Cape St. Vincent to the west is the most south-westerly point in Europe.

The Algarve benefits from long hot summers, and warm temperate winters although the mercury falls rapidly on a winters evening. For the most part the coastline to the west of Faro is rocky but with secluded sandy coves and many long sweeping sandy beaches.

The Albufeira / Guia area

The village of Guia lies 8km inland from the seaside resort of Albufeira. With its narrow streets and typical Portuguese architecture it offers all amenities; bars and restaurants, supermarkets, post office, butcher and baker, even a new medical centre. The newsagent has internet and video rental facilities. Guia is famous for its many cafes and restaurants offering meals to suit all pockets; the speciality of the area "Chicken piri-piri", locally caught seafood, and a selection of traditional Algarvian dishes as well as other international favourites. There is a daily fish, fruit, and vegetable market, and a regular visiting gypsy market. Cliff Richard's residence and his vineyards are our close neighbours.

Within fifteen minutes drive are the popular beaches of Castello and Gale with their bars and restaurants, offering all types of watersports, or the rocky coves and secluded beaches of Benagil,...or the bustling holiday resort of Albufeira, ...or the golf course at Salgados, .. or the recently opened Algarve Shopping Centre with hypermarket, boutiques, multi-screen cinema, ten pin bowling, fast food outlets, and restaurants .....

Quinta dos Alamos is on the outskirts of the village of Guia, located some 38 km from the airport of Faro. Ask us for a route map. The journey takes around 40 minutes following the expressway in a westerly direction towards the coastal town of Portimao.

Faro airport is served by scheduled and budget airlines as well as charter operators from all regions of UK and Europe.

A car is essential for touring the Algarve and both local and international rental agencies can provide a range of vehicles for collection at the airport. Quinta dos Alamos is located just after the village of Guia in the direction of Albufeira. Casa do Sino is located at the end of Rua das Pedras.

“Wonderful Villa” We stayed in Casa do Sino in October. Booking the villa was very straightforward, we were provided with all the information we needed before we travelled and the owner was very helpful. The villa is clean, very spacious and in a good location. It is in a residential area but very quiet and only a few minutes drive to some beautiful beaches. The pool is fabulous and great to have the option of heating during the cooler months. There is also a very nice private park just across the road. The children's room is lovely, my son was delighted with all the toys and books that were provided. The villa has everything you could need to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

“Very enjoyable - didn't want the holiday to end and would definitely return!” Lovely villa which was clean, well equipped and with plenty of room. The pool was clean and a good size with plenty of sun loungers and a choice of sunshine or shade throughout the day. The pool area could also be gated off if necessary for young children. The villa is located in a quiet cul-de-sac but within a 10 minute walk of the village which has a large number of restuarants, banks, bakery and minimarket. A car is recommended as the nearest beach is approx 5km away and there are plenty of other parts of the Algarve that are worth a visit. The owner provided an excellent level of service, was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The information provided about the villa was excellent and the free wifi was great for our 2 teenage daughters! A very relaxing and enjoyable holiday!
