There are two large pools which are deep enough to dive in and a small pool for children. There are three tennis courts located just beyond the balcony these must be hired separately. A bar and restaurant where full meals and also snacks and buffet breakfasts can be enjoyed for a variety of budgets.
There are a number of playing areas for children on the condominium. Swings are just 50 yards from the apartment entrance and a games room with different ball games and computer games is beside the restaurant.
Note for wheelchair access: Although this apartment enjoys a raised view from the south-facing balcony it is accessed via the ground floor and there is enough space to drive to the entrance lobby and then gain entry without anything more than a two inch high ridge at the front door.
The Algarve region
This is the place where the highest sunshine hours are recorded in Europe. More than 3000 hours a year. Temperatures are hence higher than can be expected elsewhere. In midsummer daytime highs of 32 degrees are hot, low is 23 degrees. In midwinter an average high is 16 degrees and 3 or 4 days will drop to around 10 degrees. Rain is seldom but is usual in December or January.
The Romans settled here and established harbours to refurbish their boats as tides in the Mediterranean are not high enough to be able to lift the boats out of the water. There are numerous Roman remains all along the coast and also many archaeological sites of interest where Holy Grail remains and Templar societies have been said to exist.
The apartment is just 100 meters from the Dolphins Roundabout and a government-run internet cafe where anyone can surf for free for 30 minutes on one of six internet computers. Set in an arena specially maintained for local children and schools there is a variety of equipment and areas for playing, skating and enjoying oneself. Here are concerts and musical activities with enough supervisors to keep the children happy.
Portuguese seafood, Italian pizzas, Indian curries, Chinese spice dishes, the range is still growing as Albufeira maintains its position as favourite location in the whole of Portugal for families and singles alike for holidays. From this central location with a rental car or using cheap local busses you can reach the lush hills of Monchique and enjoy the health water which the Romans first discovered.
You can reach the wild coasts of the west where windsurfers and nature lovers home in. Or you can nip across to Spain and do some Spanish shopping, Albufeira is only 30 minutes from any part of Algarve with the car. Scooters are also available to rent as low as 75€ a week and are a cool and inexpensive way to zip around. Harley Davisons or Honda Goldwings are available for those who want to travel in style.
There are festivals each month details of which are available from the tourist office just a ten minute walk away. If you want to meet up with a whole crowd of UK people then the discos and bars of the "Strip" set between souvenir shops chip shops is the place for you, no Portuguese required here.
The regular local bus service will take you to a variety of sheltered coves and beaches, some supervised and others unsupervised but most are within reach of the excellent Portuguese newly built beach restaurants. These government regulated wooden structures have been placed to make the least impact on the natural wildlife and yet provide modern facilities such as free clean toilets and showers at cost price. Visitors have the choice of a private cove of their own or an open supervised beach with loungers and with clearly displaced timetables and prices of meals everyone will feel well catered for.
The famous resort of Vilamoura is 20 minutes drive where some of the best golf courses attract visitors from all over the world mostly due to the excellent weather in Algarve. More locally there are golf courses and putting greens sprouting up like mushrooms to cater for the demand.
The newly built harbour is just five minutes walk from the apartment where boating and fishing equipment can be rented out. Excursions on yachts, motorboats or catamarans to view the caves all along the coast to the "end of the world" at Sagres, are offered locally. Those interested in buying property can find many English-speaking agents offering plots of land for as little as £5000 or apartments for £70,000 and up.
Kids will be thrilled to see the numerous theme parks ranging from Zoomarine to The Big One or Krazy World, all within 15 minutes coach drive away. Coaches pick you up outside the condominium.
Take a walk down to the coast yourself and join the locals with their fishing rods to see what big fish you can pull in for dinner.
Shops just hundreds of yards away offer anything from specialised hardware to embroidery and for a Lidl supermarket where beer starts at 50p a liter and champagne and cheese is much cheaper than in Britain, you will have to cycle or drive five minutes along the ring road.
Sir Cliff Richard did not settle a couple of hundred meters from the apartment JUST because things were less expensive, the local street is now named after him and he has moved back a couple of kilometers inland to run a more lucrative establishment selling wine with his name on the bottle. He invites visitors saying "looking forward to see you" on a local radio ad but do not count on him being there all the time ;-)

i stayed for 2 weeks in albufeira at that base and it was the right thing for me as studentgirl who is interest in taking pictures of interesting people and beautiful landscapes. The atmosphere is calm enough to relax but if you want to know new people it is a convenient location as well. at evenings you can go out to the disco/club a short walk away or you just eat a tasty, freshly cought fish in close neighbourhood restaurants. it is set up very comfortably and lovingly. you have everything you need for an adequate time out and if something missing or or does not work immediately, the host helps directly. so have fun and dare to ask him things you want to know.
i can absoluty recommend that affordable oasis...

Stayed in this studio in Sept 12
Arrived late in the evening, bathroom light not working, owner had put a table table in there!, is this not dangerous?
Sofa bed was old, 4ft in size & very very uncomfortable.
The studio is very cluttered with some of the owner personal things in the wardrobe
Not very clean inside & not at all clean on the terrace. The outside furniture was dirty & broken.
Really not impressed with this property as a holiday let, I know it is cheap but there needs to be a standard kept to.
Arrived here last week to find out what is going on - your are absolutely right! Glad I was informed and have now replaced storm-damaged balcony furniture, strip-light in the bathroom and cleared the items which fell from the apartment above. The worst thing is to have guests who are not happy - this will not happen again. Apologies for the disappointment. New cleaning staff is next on my list of duties and a yet bigger better and comfy bed.

"Excellent,,,Loved every minute,,planning a return trip already"
Very nice large studio, great location just a 10 minute stroll downhill to the Old town where their are endless great bar and restaurants.
Also a 30minute walk (or short bus ride, the bus stop is just outside the front door of the resort) to the beautiful beaches of Sao Raphael.
Apartment itself was great , everything you could need. Was very comfortable and clean with a huge terrace where you can have a drink. There is a pool onsite with bars and restaurants/mini markets also.
I stayed in August where the daytime temperatures were around 30-31degrees yet the inside of the apartment was always nice and cool.
I recommend this apartment to anyone, it is excellent value for money. Communication with the owner was excellent and my deposit was returned before i got home!

We (mum, dad & 1yr old) stayed at the studio apt for one week start of August and found it ideal for what we needed.
10 min walk downhill to the beach each morning, then up in late afternoon, back down to the Old town in the early evening and up again at night burned off all the calories the hospitality that Albufeira had to offer!!
Studio was spacious and had a great balcony area with large swing seat which was great to sit out on at night when the sun went down.
Apartment itself was quite basic but we knew that before travelling and it had everything we needed.
Albufeira itself was lovely, beach was great, people very friendly and food and drink reasonably priced and tasted great so we would recommend to anyone.

"Great base if you want to explore a charming traditional town with lots to offer"
The good sized studio apartment has a recently well tiled bathroom, along with an excellent large balcony, which stretches over the staggered apartment below. Lovely views over the tennis courts, alon… More

"Apartment Adequate, owner relations poor, location good"
Hi, we stayed here in August 2010 for two weeks. It basically is get what you pay for. The complex itself is fairly well contained with good pool. The apartment is pretty basic. The cooking facilities let us down a couple of days and we had to wait for the maintenance man to call to fix it which meant being without a cooker for a day or two. We also had significant trouble getting the full deposit back. The owner said the towels were dirty, they were used for the beach and the terrace was sandy, it is a beach apartment. Never before have had this difficulty. Also have had subsequent difficulty in contacting owner in relation to separate matter. There are better apartments to stay in in Albuferia and worth doing your research. Maybe okay for 1 week stay but not two week.

"Incredible Location! Lovely Apartment"
We stayed here in September and had amazing weather. The apartment is a short walk to the beach and town and has great access to taxis and buses for further exploring. There were no bad points what so ever about this holiday and the apartment, however it would not be suitable for people with walking difficulties as there are lots of hils and steps. We can't wait to go back!
PS definitely give Zoomarine a visit! The dolphins are amazing!

"Apartment was just right for my wife & myself & the location & views fantastic."
My wife & myself have been coming to Albufeira for over 10 years now & have mainly stayed in my friends apartment & a couple of hotels at the top end of the old town.
We fancied a change this year & hired this apartment, it was in a great location & the views were fantastic especially waking up in the morning & opening the patio door & looking at the sea, lovely.
We mainly used the pools in the complex which were very good, you get charged 1.50 to hire the cushions for the sun beds although cheaper than going to the beach everyday which per couple is 15 euros!
Also there is a nice bar & restaurant on the complex which have entertainment, there is also a shop downstairs from the pool selling bread/water etc & the english papers from 11.00am.
I would recommend anybody to hire this apartment as l will be going back next year!
I am glad you liked it. I spent a good six months searching for the best place in Europe to get sunshine, friendly people and a safe and secure location. Albufeira is the right place and I believe that this is the very best part of town, quiet and yet minutes walk to the centre of where everyone wants to get to!
