About the home

Vila Kela is a beautiful, child friendly villa which is fully furnished to an extremely high standard. Quiet and peaceful, yet still only 10 minutes from the main resort's golden beaches and tourist facilities, it is located in the village of Cerro do Ouro, 7km north of Albufeira old town, within easy access of local shops and excellent restaurants.

The villa benefits from its own privately situated pool which features a child safety fence, with a separate smaller shallow pool perfect for young children. Leading from the dining room is a large sunny terrace with BBQ, furnished with table and chairs to enable you to dine alfresco. With two double and two twin bedrooms, the villa is ideal for families, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay. We can even cater for larger families (up to 12) as the two sitting rooms feature double sofa beds.

Vila Kela has entertainment facilities including a pool table, table tennis table, Pro-Form 60 treadmill / running machine and a Playstation 2 console. There are also board games and DVDs to watch. Free wi-fi access is available on request.

Air-conditioning is available in all the bedrooms and the lounge, and Sky TV and cable is available to view.

Banks / ATMs, chemist, post office and market are nearby in the villages of Ferreiras and Guia. The villa is an easy drive from the Algarve's best beaches, including Albufeira's famous Fishermans beach, Gale, Sao Rafael, Castelo, Oura, Balaia and Falesia.

The nearest golf courses are Balaia Golf - 9km (9 hole), Sheraton Pine Cliffs Golf - 11km (9 hole) and Salgados Golf - 14 km (18 hole).

It is the perfect place to relax in peace, to use as a base for a golfing holiday, or from which to explore the nearby attractions of the Algarve.

The main entrance leads into the hallway which gives access to the principal reception rooms and the three downstairs bedrooms. The spacious living room is comfortably furnished and features a 2nd (drinks?)fridge. A character stairway leads to the upper floor from where there is access to the roof terrace which can be used for sunbathing or alfresco dining.
All rooms have secure shutters/grills.
A complimentary starter pack of groceries and beverages is also included.

Further details outdoors:
Vila Kela is walled and fenced with driveway access through electronic gates which guarantees both privacy and security. There are established flower beds, a palm tree, night lighting and a large lawn which is ideal for children's games. There is ample secure parking space for up to 4 cars.

The large terrace off the dining room is equipped with tables for alfresco dining. There are soft furnishings and a swing for relaxing. The west facing terrace has a BBQ and is ideal for entertaining, admiring the sunsets and watching the birds take their evening drink from the pool!
The terrace overlooks the pool which is equipped with sunbeds and a shower area. The main swimming pool has an area of nine metres x five metres and depths ranging from one to two metres.
The gardens and pool are regularly maintained all year around.

The fully enclosed laundry room is off one of the terraces and offers a washing machine, clothes iron and ironing board.

All bed linen and bathroom towels are provided. Clients must provide their own beach towels.

Our changeover day is normally Sunday, although we may be able to be flexible with arrival days and length of stay at certain times of the year.

Checkout time on departure day is 10:00 hours - so that the villa can be prepared for the new arrivals.
Check in time on arrival day is 16:00 hours - unless we are able to make the villa ready for you earlier.

Conditions

A 25% deposit is required to confirm the booking with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival. If booking within 8 weeks of arrival 100% payment is required to confirm the booking.

The villa is let on the basis that guests will kindly replace anything they break at their own cost.

No smoking inside the villa - smoking is limited to the terrace and outside areas.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve is renowned for its stunning climate, gorgeous beaches, comprehensive leisure facilities and local hospitality. The coastline, stretching 100 miles from Cape St. Vincent to Vila Real de Santo Antonio, has some of the best clean water beaches in Europe, featuring secluded coves, amazing cliffs and vast stretches of golden sand.

Outdoor sports and leisure activities are in abundance. The Algarve is home to many of the world's top golf courses and has played host to many international tournaments and competitions. Golfers are in paradise with over 30 courses to choose from.

Away from the main tourist hub, explore the quaint fishing villages which retain much of their original charm and character. Visit the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, the Monchique mountains, Sagres and Cape St Vincent. The towns of Alte, Messines, and Silves, with its imposing castle, are all full of history and local charm. Loule has many fine old churches and buildings, and a famous covered market that spills out onto the streets on Saturdays.

The Albufeira / Cerro Do Ouro area

Cerro do Ouro is situated between Paderne and Albufeira. It is a quiet, peaceful village, where one can walk around the surrounding countryside through fields and hills, experiencing the gentle pace of life that exists outside the hustle and bustle of the coast and tourist resorts. There is a well stocked village shop within 5 minutes walk of the villa with an adjoining cafe-bar, and excellent local restaurants Veneza and Xerem Fusion Cuisine just a little further down the road. Outside the cafe-bar is a regular bus route to Albufeira.

Paderne is a charming village, featuring a strikingly beautiful parish church, first constructed in the 1500s and added to over the years. Paderne's Spring is still refreshingly rustic and used by passing locals as a water source. Paderne Castle was built by the Moors and is now a national monument, currently undergoing restoration work after falling into disrepair in the 19th century. It's medieval feasts, carnival procession and gastronomic fair are all tourist attractions.

Albufeira is the tourist capital of the Algarve and receives a considerable percentage of the 5 million tourists who visit there each year, attracted by its golden beaches, world class golf courses, fabulous restaurants which serve many local specialities, and numerous bars/discos that enliven the night.

Albufeira now boasts a new marina complex within walking distance of the centre. Daily cruises, big game fishing, diving and paragliding can all be booked here. Vilamoura also has a huge marina, surrounded by cafes, bars, boutiques and fashionable shops.

The Algarve shopping centre, located on the EN125, is 10 minutes drive away. It has one of the largest supermarkets on the Algarve and the shopping mall features a huge selection of stores and restaurants. There is also a bowling alley and cinema which plays English films.

Other nearby attractions include Zoomarine - a dolphinarium which has its own mini funfair and waterpark, and Krazyworld which offers good family entertainment with a zoo, pools and fairground. There are also 2 huge waterparks - Slide and Splash, and Aqualand - The Big One, which offer just about every imaginable aquabatic experience!

Faro Airport is served by most of the scheduled and budget airlines. Flight availability can be accessed directly through their websites. We also recommend Skyscanner on www.skyscanner.net which gives a price comparison of available flights.

Cheap flights are normally available from Monarch, Easyjet and Jet2.

Vila Kela is 35 minutes drive from the airport - car hire is strongly recommended. All the main providers, including Avis, Europcar and Autojardim (often Portugal's best car hire company) are located at Faro airport. Try www.europcar.com (discounts available for easyjet customers).

Full directions to the villa from the airport will be provided once final payment is received.

“Vila Kela left us wanting for nothing - it was the perfect home from home.” We will definitely be back next year as our every whim and more were catered for. The accomodation was much bigger than the pictures show and satisfied the needs of everyone from our teenage boys to my (almost) pensioner mum. The kitchen had every possible utensil, the pool and table tennis tables offered hours of relaxed fun and the gardens and pool were the perfect tonic to the beautiful Portuguese sunshine. The Vila was perfectly peaceful and quiet due to it's secluded location but thanks to Jean and Alan (English taxi drivers) you could be in the hustle and bustle of Albufeira within a cheap, 10 minute taxi ride so we were able to enjoy the best of both worlds. The Vila was spotless on arrival, our bedding was changed without disruption, the pool was cleaned twice a week and we were in a short driving distance of many beautiful beaches and the water parks. For anyone looking for a totally relaxing holiday within touching distance of a main resort then I would very strongly recommend Vila Kela as the place to be, especially as the owner and her son were on hand to answer any questions we had.

“Beautiful villa, amazing holiday” We spent a fantastic week in this stunning villa. Could not fault it. Immaculate throughout beautiful gardens a credit to the owners. Already planning our next trip.
