About the home

This one bedroom apartment is set in the Albufeira Jardim resort with 2 large outdoor pools and children's pool with poolside bars and restaurants and only 10 minutes walk to the wonderful beach and the Old Town at Albufeira. The apartment has been completely renovated offering modern and bright accommodation to ensure you have a great holiday.

The apartment is fully equipped with everything you will require for your stay and has double bedroom and family bathroom, lounge and dining area and fully fitted modern kitchen. The lounge/dining area is fully air conditioned or heated during the winter months. The large patio doors lead to the front terrace which has dining furniture for dining Al Fresco or just enjoying the Algarve sun.

The bedroom has a double bed and the lounge has two single full size sofa beds. The lounge has 32" flat screen TV with Skysports, DVD and CD player. The bathroom is fully fitted with bath and shower. The kitchen has ample cupboard space and is fully equipped with everything you will require during your stay including a washing machine.

The exterior terrace is south facing and has gated access making it secure for young children.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve occupies the extreme south-west of continental Europe. It is approximately 95 miles long and 30 miles wide, and is about one seventeenth of the total area of Portugal, covering 2,000 square miles.

Low ranges of mountains separate the Algarve from the rest of Portugal to the north, whilst the Guadiana River forms the natural frontier with Spain to the east. This is the Algarve's largest river, flowing for more than 500 miles from the Serra do Caldeirão and Serra do Malhão ranges down to the Atlantic Ocean at Vila Real.

The climate is very pleasant all the year round, with more than 3,000 hours of sunshine a year. July and August can be very hot, with little or no rainfall, a warm ocean and great sunbathing plus plenty of activity all around. March to June is warm, with hardly any rainfall, and the countryside is at its best and most beautiful, a great time for walkers and sightseers. November to February is often a sunny and mild time, very quiet and peaceful, but there can be erratic rainfall, and it can be cold at night. September and October are quite warm, but can have a little rainfall, and the countryside can look a little dry and sparse.

The N 125 road, which runs from Vila Real in the east to Vila do Bispo in the west, somewhat unequally divides the Algarve, into two parts. South of the road is where most of the 300,000 population lives, close to the beautiful Algarvian coastline. The north side of the road leads into the hills and mountains that separate the Algarve from the next province of Portugal, the Alentejo, and also provide the Algarve with a natural barrier against the elements of the north.

The Algarve boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, and can be characterised by its two distinct areas. The eastern side, known as the Sotavento (the leeward), is situated between Albufeira and Vila Real de Santo Antonio, the beaches along this coast being mainly long sandy stretches. The western coastline, known as the Barlavento (windward), and situated between Albufeira and Cape St. Vincent, has more variety, with a multitude of cove beaches, some of which are only accessible by boat. In the far west at Sagres and Cape St. Vincent, the coastline is much more formidable, with cliffs rising to over 200 feet. There are a multitude of beaches along the Algarve coastline, and, incredibly, some you'll find almost deserted, even in summer time!

You can enjoy beautiful days out around the Algarve, be it in the mountains, along the coast or along the Guadiana river, with many a country surprise for you along the way!

The Albufeira area

Albufeira is the most popular resort in the Algarve, with its many thousands of visitors each year. However, it still manages to retain much of its original charm.

Albufeira was once a small fishing village which has now expanded to accommodate the increasing number of tourists that visit every year. The centre still holds its old charm with narrow streets and whitewashed cottages. The golden, safe beach has coves and rock pools ideal for inquisitive children. Fishermen still moor their brightly coloured fishing boats on the beach to sell the mornings catch and mend their nets. Albufeira is friendly and bustling day and night with an array of traditional Portuguese and European restaurants and bars. Shops that sell traditional Portuguese brightly decorated pottery and tiles, locally made leather goods and beautiful lace items. On the western outskirts of Albufeira a new marina has been constructed and is now in use.

Nearby is the lively resort of Praia d’Oura. The one way street in this area locally called “The Strip” leads you to the popular Oura beach which is at the foot of a fairly steep hill, known as “Cardiac Hill.”

Albufeira today is a hive of activity. During the day fishermen are preparing their nets on the beach or selling their previous night's catch. At night, plenty of razzmatazz in its many restaurants, bars, cafes and discos can be enjoyed by all ages!

Local attractions include, Zoomarine, Krazy World, Aquatic Parks, Sand Festival, Numerous Golf Courses, Jeep Safari's, Sailing Trips, Beach sports and games and much much more.

“fantastic” We just got back from these apartments yesterday and we had a fantastic time.Everything that you wanted or needed is there to make the most of your holiday.The owners are only on the other side of the phone if you have any questions or need advice.Great pool and res just a couple of mins away and great security on site.Ten min walk max to the old town and beach.
