About the home

The perfect getaway for famlies or couples. Large double bedroom, + an L-shaped bedroom with two single beds.Within easy reach of the all the sites of Puglia, an area of unique history, art and architecture. Spend time by the private shared pool or beaches. A great retreat for that too. Time and again clients have commented that what makes it stand out from the others is the view and position on a rolling hillside.

The trullo is restored to the highest standards. Original stone, not cheap copies. The floor, which has been relaid, is exactly according to local stone patterns, Handmade wooden fittings, not mass produced. Oak, not pine, Every facility such as fluffy towels and crisp bed linen. TV, your own private parkland. The trullo is set next door to one other that share a hectare of land for you to explore. Solar heating and the latest modern plumbing and electrics. It's all here for a delightful base to enjoy the best of Puglia.

A true trulli. Exposed stonework (all original), white walls, rustic Italian living , yet the latest modern conveniences. Traditional wrought iron beds (locally made in original style), brand new kitchen and bathrooms. The bathroom fittings are the latest German designs.

The kitchen is stocked with a wide range of new equipment. Lots of space. Terraces, authentic stone barbecue, play area and your own private olive grove to relax in. Flat screen TV and DVD. Italian internet dongles giving unlimited access provided. Fluffy towels fresh linen. All spotlessly clean when you arrive.

High chair/cot available for infants.

English language channels on satellite TV.

There is lots of space to spread out in, whilst luxuriating deep in the Italian counteryside in peace and quiet. Every detail has been worked upon.

Full size pool shared with just one other trullo. Shade/umbrellas/sun loungers/poolside towels all ready for you, External dining table and chairs for al fresco dining. Then countryside for miles around. Many trulli have noisy next door neighbours in close proximity. In this case apart from one other trullo (owned by same owner) there is nothing but rolling countryside. Yet the town is just a few minutes' drive away. You have your own private olive grove to explore!

We visited over 100 properties before finding the right place with the right views and surround, yet convenient for all facilities. This is our little bit of heaven.

The Puglia/Molise region

Puglia is where the Italians holiday. Hot in summer, but not too hot in the hills (typically around 30c) as a breeze cools things down. 20c in the Spring and Autumn. Enough rainfall to keep things green - not barren. Miles of beaches, small hillside villages and streets literally made of marble that have been unchanged since the middle ages.

Like Tuscany was 30 years ago. You'll hear almost exlcusively Italian. Puglia is full of history and culture. All village centres have churches 100s of years old, the unique "trulli" - listed as World Heritage interest (ours is one of only 5000 in existence). Wine, famously delicious food. Puglia is about a healthy, steady pace of life, steeped in history.

The Alberobello area

Alberobello is the Trulli Capital of the world. Just 5000 trulli exist, 2000 are in Alberobello. A fascinating town to stroll about. Just 15km away are literally dozens of beaches along the skarling Adriatic coastline.

Ostuni, "the White City", lerally with streets of marble. The world famous Castellan caves, the mystical Castel del Monte. Lecce, the Queen of Baroque. Many Roman ruins. There is nowhere else like this.

BA flies direct to Bari from Gatwick Apr-Oct. Alitalia, Easyjet, Air One and Swiss to name but a few can get you to Bari from anywhere in the UK with just one change.

“ideal puglian summer” we spend 2 weeks in august..trullis are nicely decorated..the location is very quiet..we saw 2 car from the terrace in 2 weeks!!!!! 3 km away from the touristical but interesting city of alberobello..you can also discover the beautiful city of locorontondo 5 km away, martina franca, my favourite is 10 km away ( go to the tripoli cafe for a granite di caffe con pana!!!!)...our favourite beaches were in ostuni coast....need a 45 min drive but u can stop in lido tavernese 10 km closer on the ss16....so enjoy the local life during the morning with the amazing local food markets....relax in the beautiful swimming pool and finish the day in the beach if u like
