About the home

Trulli Alto is a quality 3 bedroom/two bathroom family trullo. Beautiful views over olive groves and vineyards, yet just 5 minutes drive from small town with restaurants, shops and other facilities. Private full size pool shared with one other trullo. Suits families or groups of friends as well as romantic smaller trullo for couples. Cots/high chairs for small children. Restoration to the most demanding modern standard to fill modern needs, but carefully faithful to original detail. Renters have total access to a hectare of land and trees - lots of space for the children to run around in. Huge number of beaches and sea just 15km away. Historic Puglia to see and explore - the UNESCO heritage area is just around the corner.

The trulli is just 5 minutes' drive from Alberobello, the Trulli Capital. It's only a small town, but there are wonderful food shops with beautiful fresh produce. There is a proper Buffalo Mozzarella dairy on the edge of town! There are about 25 restaurants. 3 course dinner for 2 + the best wine at the most expensive restaurant in town still 30% cheaper than the UK! The food is so good even Italians come to Puglia for culinary holidays.

Full size 10m x 5m pool with shallow end for children. Huge garden and play area bordering its own 100 year old olive grove. Inside all restored stonework uses stones found on site. Handmade oak fittings, not the cheaper pine that many use. Latest bathroom and shower equipment. New plumbing and electrics throughout. Brand new kitchens and bathrooms. Traditionally rustic Italy, yet with every modern facility. Italian internet dongles giving unlimited inernet access provided.

High quality linen and towels provided. Spectacular views. Over and over agin it's the postion and views that holidaymakers have commented upon.

Trulli Alto shares a pool with one smaller 2 bedroom trulli which is next door. Set in the countryside, there are no other buildings arpart from Trullo Olivo for miles around. As the trullo is on a hillside, there are stunning rural views over vineyards and olive groves. A huge private terrace, own parking, entrance and stone barbecue. Many trulli are very close to neighbours which don't show in the photos! - that ruins privacy. In this case there is only one trullo (owned by the same owner) next door, and then countryside for miles around, Sunloungers as well as outdoor dining, tables and chairs for al fresco eating. Pool loungers/beach towels/shade umbrellas all provided on site.

The Puglia/Molise region

Puglia is where the Italians on holiday - the deep south remains unspoilt. Miles of beaches, small hillside villages with marble streets unchanged since the middle ages. Perfect for families. Fantastic food and wine - about half the price of northern Italy. the southern Italians love children, they are welcome in even the smartest places. The area right by the sea is very hot in summer, often 40C, but drive just a few minutes' inland to the gently 500metre hills, and the temperature is a perfect 30C or so. Mild spring and Autumn, typically 20c, a heated pool such as our makes all the difference. There is a great Safari Park, markets, fascinating caves to visit and ancient buildings and cathedrals, all set in unspoit countryside.

There are literally hundreds of beaches within an hour's drive. The whole of the Adiratic coastline of the south, or cross to the Bay of Taranto, and another huge selection. There are more beaches than days of the year!

The Alberobello area

Alberobello is the Trulli Capital of Puglia. A listed World Hertiage site as over 3000 of the 5000 trulli still standing are in this town. there are only a couple of main streets. Park in the car park and walk around the beautiful, strange and mystical trulli. Alberobello is small enough that you can just nip in and out to collect food or visit a restaurant or the local shops, but big enough to offer a great choice. Just 5 minutes drive from the trulli. The beach is just 20 minutes' drive away acorss ancient olive groves.

Southern Italy is a mixture of traditional Catholic and traces of much older cultures. There are numerous Saints Days when statutes from a local church are paraded up and down the streets to great celebrations. There is a market every day in one of the nearby local towns,

Fly to Bari or Brindisi or Naples. Property 50 minutes' drive from either. Ryanair flies direct to both from London Stanstead, BA flies direct to Bari from Gatwick from Apr -Oct. Alitalia, Easyjet, Air One and many other airlines fly via a quick change in Milan or Rome. Naples is about 3 hrs drive, but has far more direct flights from different parts of the UK which are often very competitive in price.

“trulli and gelati” The property is as described, the location is great, far enough from the first village to get a quiet environment while staying at the the trully or by the pool. A lot to see around this area, do not miss the best Ice cream maker in Puglia in Lecce 120 kms from Alberobello and the other city closed by where you will find always something to visit and nice cafe and restaurant. In summary , just looking forward coming back
