Home description

IL CAMPANILE is located just 3km from the beach, on the outskirts of the Albenga and Alassio. Quiet and peaceful, yet only fifteen minutes from the larger resorts such as Alassio, the house has easy access to all amenities, including grocery shops and newsagent, bar, and many excellent restaurants for eating out.
Leading from the living room is a spacious balcony with stunning views, furnished with a table and chairs to enable you to dine al fresco. There are 2 flats available at ground floor (sleep 2+2). All the units have private bathroom with shower and kitchenette. It's possible to use the penthouse sundeck all the day long for sunbathing and it's possible to reserve it in the evening for private parties (bbq facilities).

The North West Italy / Italian Riviera/Liguria region

The climate is typically mediterrean with mild winter and hot sunny summer. It never freezes (or very seldom) and the region, despite the latitude, is habitat for palms and other more southern flowers and trees.


Albenga / Bastia area

Albenga is a city situated on the Gulf of Genoa on the Italian Riviera in the Province of Savona. The city is of Celtic origins, the chief town of the Ligures, and flourished as the municipium of Albingaunum under the Roman Empire, owing to its position that offered access from the coast to the interior, and the Via Julia Augusta, the Roman coast road. Its early Christian baptistery, perhaps dating to the 5th century, is now ten feet below modern street level. Alluvial deposits washed down by the torrential Centa have gradually buried the southern section of Roman Albingaunum and its port, but Albenga has a well-preserved historic centre, retaining the Roman plan of its grid planning and surrounded by its ancient walls. It still retains four of its medieval tower houses and other houses built to the Roman plan round a courtyard. Albenga's fortunes declined with the rise of Genoa, but it is again prospering as a centre for tourism and agriculture.


How to get there

By car, exit the A10 motorway at "Albenga" station. Turn right, right again at first traffic light (direction Pieve di Teco, Garlenda), we're in the village centre next to the church.
By plane: the closest airport are Genova-ITA km 80 and Nice-FRA km 100. There is a small local airport (Villanova) 6km from our home but there are scheduled flight only to and from Rome.
By train: Albenga station, we can come and pick you at the train station.
