Just beyond the house is an open space with fountains and gardens, while 100 meters along the street there is another small square lined with ancient houses. The house is also 300 meters from a picturesque walking street filled with small craft shops, teahouses and little restaurants. The same distance in a different direction brings one to the central square Plaza Nueva, with its tourist shops, cafes and restaurants as well as the mini bus transport links for the Alhambra and Albaicyn.

Blue skies and sunshine almost every day, Granada is an ideal base from which to explore all the magic of Andalucia, it's beautiful countryside, olive groves, Sierra Nevada mountains and ski-slopes (just 40mins away) and glorious beaches...not so full of tourists such as further down the coast closer to Malaga. There are also hydro dam lakes that are wonderful for swimming and picnics, and an endless array of small villages to visit close by. It is just 2-3 hours to Seville, Cordoba or Almeria. (Of course, the Costa del Sol is also within an hour by highway or a little further if you take the coastal route).

Albaicin

Beyond the magic of the Alhambra and the gardens of the Generalife, Granada boasts a wide range of attractions. After a day of exploring cathedrals and museums, the city has even more to offer in the evening. An array of fine restaurants tempts those passing their doors. There are also regular fiestas and cultural festivals that serve to attaract visitors. Being one of the homes of flamenco means that there are also atmospheric cave bars waiting to be explored.
