SOME TOURIST INFORMATION:
La Carrera del Darro and the Paseo de los Tristes is for many one of the world's most beautiful streets.
Its official name is Carrera del Darro until it opens a wide avenue overlooking the Alhambra, here his name is Father Manjón, but popularly known as the Paseo de los Tristes for being the place where the funeral procession passed in way to the cemetery since the beginning of the century until the rise to the cemetery (behind the Alhambra), was done by the Cuesta de los Chinos, which begins at the end of the ride, so all the funeral procession passed by this place.
This walk runs parallel to the river Darro, formerly Dauro (Latin Aurus = gold) because people have used to wash gold in their orillas.En past this river was crossed by numerous bridges, of which the bridge connecting the Cadi the Alhambra with the Albayzín. Another of them leads to the source of Hazel is Aljibillo Bridge, still standing.
The Bridges of Cabrera and Espinosa are still preserved in good condition and allow us to contemplate across this beautiful ride from another perspective
Walking the street is a festival for the senses as the traveler accompanying the beautiful views of their churches (San Pedro), convents where the nuns sell candy, Arab baths, the smell of incense and spices, bright colors from the picturesque craft shops, bars and restaurants. You can always stop and listen to musicians who give their show on the street, under the imperturbable gaze of the mysterious Red Castle, the Alhambra
