We arrived at 7 pm and was surprised to see the housekeepers rush in ahead of the property manager, Tancu, and us. We were speechless. DIrty linens and towels on the kitchen floor, and cigarette ashes dumped on living room floor (of a nonsmoking villa mind you). Check- in is in the afternoon and according to the calendar, it had not been rented for weeks. We watched them cleaning the kitchen of leftover food and loading the dishwasher. The manager made excuses about not being told we were coming. My thought is this. Are properties not cleaned when guests check out or do they wait until the day a new renter comes in? According the the website, the villas are cleaned following and prior to a guest coming. We were exhausted from our trip from Germany and we were asked to go back into town and eat while the staff cleaned. Not professional in my opinion. When we came back it appeared cleaner. We all headed to our rooms for sleep. Not thrilled with mismatched bedding, cartoon towels and pillow cases and not enough blankets. No toilet paper. The next morning as I showered I saw a dark smear of something down the front of the master toilet. On closer inspection, I was horrifed to find it was either blood or feces! Could it get any worse? 5 Star Bargain Villas? Feces? I discovered the linens that had been on the floor the night before folded in the bottom of the closet. There is no dryer and we discovered it takes more than an hour for the washer to run. The staff had put the dirties back in the closet for perhaps later washing. This made me wonder about the current towels (we each got one by the way fro the whole week.!!) Two different bedrooms had half meter rips down the middle of the curtains. The coffee pot had a crack and leaked. We had to wear shoes in the kitchen. If you touched the dishwasher or the stove or water pot you would get shocked. Apparently, they are not properly grounded. There was not one garbage can in the entire house. Not in the bathrooms or the kitchen. I called and emailed JP and never got a return call. I finally got an email telling me to have Tancu bring the cleaners back. I feel it was his job to call Tancu and express his dis-satisfaction with our complaints not have us do so. I finally called the property manager and asked him to have the cleaners back, told him we needed additional towels, blankets, a garbage can and had my husband show him the feces on the toilet. We wanted to move to a different villa. He showed us the one we were to have been in and it was dirty as well. Standard operating procedures, I guess. Tancu then tried to tell us we owed him for housekeeping and utilities. I nearly lost it. I found my rental agreement, forwarded it to J.P and asked him to have his manager quit harassing us for extra money. The whole week was tarnished. We beileve Tancu had friends or squatters, staying in the villas as there were people in for a night drinking and celebrating--you can see into the villas from the upper windows. I think J.P. needs to make an unscheduled visit. Oh and the feces was still there after a second "cleaning" despite my husband pointing it out. How gross to have to clean up someone elses disgusting mess! Beware renters! Unless J.P. listens and gets a new manager, it will continue. The view from the villa was breathtaking, but cleanliness is a dealbreaker no matter what. Trash was outside around the villas. It is just not being maintained. Sad. My daughter was born in Turkey and we brought her back to see her birthplace. Not a good trip. |

Well, what a holiday, I don't know where to start. Booked with ease through John Paul Donnelly of 5 Star Bargain Villas, we arrived during the night. After a comfortable transfer from the airport, we were tired and after a quick run around the villa, we all went to bed exhausted. I don't think any of us were prepared for what greeted us in the morning. The view from the villa was simply staggering! The whole of Alanya bay was in front of us. Clear blue skies EVERYday meant that we woke up to this for the whole week. The villa itself was very well appointed, with lots of marble, great spacious rooms, what can only be described as luxury décor, family size bathrooms (ours had a jacuzzi bath!), and, saving the best till last, a private pool. This was great for the kids and us alike. The pool is on the "view" side of the villa so lazy days were spent in and out of the pool and sunbathing. There wasn't a shop close by, but a short trip into town took us to Alanya itself, where there is definitely no shortage of shops! Alanya is very relaxed, we didn't find it any where near as "pushy" for shopping and dining out as other Turkish resorts we have stayed in. The people are lovely and welcoming, and the food, both Turkish AND standard European, was outstanding every-night. Altogether a great holiday, with great weather, a truly 5 Star Villa, in a great resort. We WILL be back. The service thoughout from 5 Star Bargain Villa's was outstanding. |

After staying in Turkey many times, this was our first stay in a private villa. Arriving early hours, we had arranged airport transfers with Mr Donnelly, and we`re thankfully picked up straight away and taken straight to our villa. We awoke to the most breathtaking views ever, luckily, some groceries had been provided to tide over until we could shop, so breakfast was available. We spent many hours in and by the private pool and on the advice of our transfer driver, were picked picked up most evenings by various restaurant owners were we ate. The villa was tastefully furnished and comfortable, and as previously mentioned, had the most stunning views of the harbour and castle, we even watched as the ferry ships came and went as we sat by the pool! The 1 and half hour delay at the airport going home was the only gliche, and in reality, was only a minor pain, and not a 5SBV issue, Mr Donnelly was very helpful with all our enquiries and queries and we thank him for providing us with such a memorable holiday!! |
