About the home

The house features a large, open plan living, dining and kitchen area with tiled floors, air conditioning and doors to a large, furnished balcony.

The living and dining areas are fully furnished and have TV, DVD player and CD/MP3 stereo.
Upstairs the master bedroom has air conditioning, double bed, balcony, en suite bathroom with shower and dressing room.

Bedrooms 2 & 3 are also air conditioned and have twin single beds and bunk beds respectively, with bedroom 2 enjoying shared access to the balcony.

There is also a separate bathroom with bath and shower.

All bedrooms have ample storage with wardrobes and chests of drawers allowing 6 people to be accommodated in comfort.

Outside, the balcony and garden terrace are furnished with table and chairs. The large private garden is paved in traditional local stone and bordered with shrubs, flowers and fruit trees and features a jacuzzi.

There are also sun loungers, a swing seat and large parasol for guests to enjoy.

10% non-refundable deposit payable at time of booking, balance due 6 weeks prior to arrival.

A security deposit of £100 is payable at time of booking, refunded upon satisfactory inspection on departure.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region

The Turquoise Coast offers the visitor a rich combination of history, culture and spectacular natural beauty. Sandy beaches, pine forests, fishing villages, archaeological remains and an exceptionally warm and friendly local population, together with a wonderful climate throughout the year, make this part of Turkey the ideal location for a holiday.

The Akyaka area

Akyaka is situated in the province of Mugla, in the southwest of Turkey, at the head of the Gökova gulf, between Marmaris and Bodrum, on the Aegean Sea.

There are strict conservation rules within the village, preserving the natural beauty of the area and ensuring that all new buildings are constructed in the traditional Muğla style, with pan tiled roofs and intricately carved wooden ceilings and verandas, an interesting contrast to the modern architecture now seen in many Mediterranean countries.

Apart from a good selection of restaurants and cafés offering local and international cuisine at very reasonable prices, there are numerous shops and facilities in the village including a small supermarket, several small grocers where fresh bread, fruit and vegetables are readily available. There is also a pharmacy, hair and beauty salon, a laundrette, an ATM and even an internet café.

There is also a regular Wednesday market, selling fruit, vegetables, plants, household items and some clothes and at night there are numerous small stalls along the alleys leading down to the beach selling souvenirs and jewellery.

From the centre of Akyaka regular bus services are available to Mugla and Marmaris. Mugla is the nearest city and offers a wide choice of both modern and traditional shops, as well as an extensive market each Thursday. It also boasts one of the oldest Turkish Baths, dating from 1258.

Marmaris is situated on the coast and is more of a tourist resort, with a water park, beach and of course many places to eat and drink. It also has a Thursday market, more commercial than Mugla, but both are worth a visit,
not least for the spectacular views as the road winds up and down the mountains.

Akyaka is ideally located for visiting nearby areas of interest such as Idyma Tomb and places further afield such as Ephesus and Pamukkale. Captains Travel, who have an office in the village and an information stand by their boats on the quay, provide a wide range of excursions and are extremely helpful and pleasant.
The boat tours are highly recommended and more details can be made available upon request.

Water sports equipment and mountain bikes can be hired from the far end of the beach.

Car hire is available from Mepartours in the town.
