Sultan Apartments are unique in Akbuk in the fact that they are situated perfectly to view the whole of Akbuk Bay from every room and terrace without interruption. A small island in the sea is a focal point from the property.
This is an ideal location to enjoy a quiet relaxing holiday, within easy reach of the local sandy beach, Restaurants, shops etc. The international Airports of Bodrom and Izmir are easily accessible. Car rental and Airport transfers are easy to book prior to departure.
The Apartment is set within a small, private complex, with use of a large shared pool, with pool side furniture. There is space provided for cars.
The Apartment is arranged over two floors with a terrace on both floors with patio furniture for Al Fresco eating.
The kitchen has granite work surfaces and ceramic tiles to all floors. Nearby facilities to the site include a small local shop, and a new supermarket. The main cost road is near enough to access, but far enough away as not to hear it!

The Aegean Coast region
Sultan Apartments are perfectly situated for all holiday types. Firstly, the property can provide a relaxing retreat. The nearby resort of Altinkum moves at a faster pace, but well worth a visit. It has an open air night club, many beach front shops, bars and restaurants.
Altinkum can be reached easily by car or the Dolmus. A Dolmus is a shared mini bus, for which the fare is reasonable, and cheaper than a taxi. Altinkum is eagerly awaiting the opening of it's brand new Marina in the spring of 2009. Just outside of Altinkum is the ruins of the Temple of Appllo. Also in the area is the local Aquapark.
For those wishing to take in more ancient sites Milotus will be of interest. Akbuk is also well placed to visit two sites of 'Seven wonders of the Ancient World', the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus and the site of Halicarnassus Mausoleum at Bodrum.
Finally, a trip to Istanbul can easily be accommodated, either by direct flights or a very reasonable price for a return coach trip.
The Akbuk area
Akbuk provides a truly relaxing holiday experiences for all ages. The area is based around an old fishing village, boat trips can be taken from the Marina for fishing, or day trips out to sea. The whole bay is swathed in golden sand, Akbuk means 'Golden Bay'.
The village has a good selection of beach front Restaurants providing for a wide range of eating tastes. The traditional Turkish food is always fresh and healthy. English tastes are also catered for! And it's true, the Turkish people really are friendly and enjoy helping people to enjoy their holiday.
Akbuk is reputed to have the highest ratio of oxygen and the lowest humidity in Turkey, no wonder it is such a popular destination for the Turkish holidaymaker.
The village has the usual small shops selling the usual holiday necessities, and every Friday it has a market. The market sells fresh produce, linens etc. ATMs are situated in the area.
For those wishing to explore further the following may be of interest.: a visit to Lake Bafa, Jeep Safari, Horse Riding, Cycling.

Akbuk is served very well by two airports. Bodrum airport is the nearest airport which has regular direct flights by Thomas Cook, Onurair and Easyjet.
The journey time from Bodrum is approximately 45 minutes drive. It is very easy to arrange transfers to and from the airport.

Izmir offers alternative flight operators, including British Airways, and is approximately 90 minutes drive.

A lovely spacious apartment with views that you would never tire of. If you are looking for somewhere beautiful to relax you couldn't get a better place. A 5 minute drive takes you to a beach with white sand and clear waters, that stay shallow for miles. The pool was very peaceful, at times we had the whole area to ourselves and to make it that extra bit special you can enjoy the view of the bay right from your sun loungers.
We would recommend hiring a car to make it easier to get around- but don't let this put you off! Even though we had a car, we still used the dolmus to get into Akbuk each night (so we were able to enjoy a few drinks), and took full adavantage of the free car service which most of the restaurants offer, where they drop you home for free!
Even though it was a quiet place, we were there for 2 weeks and ate in a different restaurant every night, so there is plenty of variety.
We've never returned home from a holiday more refreshed and would definitely return.
