BookThe Aegean Coast region
The Aegean coast is known for its beautiful coastlines, stunning views, historic sites and sandy beaches. Some of the landmarks to vist in the local area are the Apollo temples, Bafa Lake and Ephesus to mention a few. The local markets remain traditional with rows of stalls selling things from clothes to rugs to a vast array of spices and fresh fish and has to be a must on any to-do list. The beaches are man-made in parts and stretches for several miles.
The Akbuk area
Akbuk is an idyllic beautiful fishing village with long sandy beaches, restaurants and bars a plenty as you stroll along the sea-front. The village has shops to cater for your every need and there are restaurants to suit all tastes. Watersports are available from the sea-front in season and there are daily boat trips also. The markets are held twice a week on Friday's and Sunday's and if you are lucky enough the local tractor can give you a ride from the villa straight to the market. There are dolmus (buses) running from the entrance on the complex every 10 minutes which can take you to other local villages and also to Altinkum the main town centre and cost as little as £1.80 a 15-20 minute bus drive away. From the bottom of the complex entrance there is a footpath/walkway that stretches along the Akbuk coastline, most of the bars and restaurants can be accessed from the beach-front. We like to spend our time lazing on the beautiful sandy beaches soaking up the Akbuk Sun

I rented this villa for 10 days. The visit was out of season so the pool was not available (which we knew beforehand). We found the location to be lovely, a 5 minute from the sea. Without a hire car... more |
