Alba Villa is 6 years old. It is large and comfortable, being fully equipped.
Starting at the top of the villa there is a massive roof terrace which is the size of the whole footprint of the villa. This is the perfect place to spend an evening watching the sun set over the mountains, and also watching the Bay of Akbuk on the other side.
On the landing, leading to the terrace, there is a large built in cupboard. On the floor below, there are three double bedrooms, a large family bathroom, and the master bedroom has an en-suite. This also has air conditioning.
All three bedrooms have full length sliding doors which open out onto either a terrace or a balcony. The family bathroom has a large cupboard, big enough to store all the household linen, and the empty suitcases.
On the ground floor there is a large sitting room and fitted kitchen. Both open out onto the front terrace, which is large enough to accomodate table and chairs for al fresco eating.
The remaining bedroom and shower room are also on this floor, making the house suitable for disabled living. The villa is built on a 700sq,m plot, giving a lot of room for for outdoor living, a feature of at least 6 months of the year in Turkey. At the front of the house there is a travertine stone paved pool terrace surrounding the large tiled swimming pool. At the back there is a large tiled area, with a gravel border all the way round. In this are planted fruit trees. The whole property is walled, and has wrought iron railings attached to the top of the walls. The front gates are also wrought iron, and open onto the tiled driveway.
The perimeter of the wall also has an evergreen oleander hedge planted round it, which gives beautifully coloured flourish in spring and summer. Also within the grounds, is built a wooden gazebo, giving welcome shade in the hottest months, as well as housing the brick built barbecue.
All doors and windows have had extra security added, and also have mosquito screens. The front steps have been replaced with a ramp which would give wheelchair access.
There is also a range of sun loungers and a large marble table for al fresco dining.

The Turkish Aegean Coast region
The whole region around the villa is rich in the history of ancient Greece. Ephesus, on of the 7 Wonders of the Ancient World is approximately 1 hours drive away. Miletus, with the largest remaining Roman amphitheatre in the world is 30 minutes drive.
The area is well served by both dual carriageways and airports, with Izmir (80 minutes) and Bodrum (45 minutes).
Other towns well worth visiting are Altinkum, Didim, Soke, Aydin, and the city of Izmir itself.
The regions coastline is rich and varied with many little coves and bays, safe sea swimming, and sandy beaches, often tucked into a small cove.
There is a wealth of flora and fauna in the regions which is also a bird watcher's paradise.
The immediate area around the villa is semi-rural, so is quiet and peaceful.
It is set on a the edge of a larger village called Akbuk which has a large range of shops, bars, cafes, and restaurants, as well as a weekly market for local produce. Whatever your holidays needs, you will find it all there in Akbuk.
Akbuk itself is a sprawling village, stretching along the bay of Akkuk which has some of the most spectacular turquoise seas in the area. There are numerous small coves and bays for swimming, picnicking, and generally lazing in the sun.

Altough the villa is based in the countryside it was perfect for us both as we were looking for a get away from it all break. The villa was clean and tidy and had all the facilities we needed. It also had its own pool which in september was a bit chiily till you got aclimatised but was great.Altough in the countryside the nearest large town altinkum is only 15 mins drive away and provided plenty of places to eat out and things to do.

"Peaceful with secluded garden, a great getaway"
Villa is in a nice estate with just a short journey to the nearest town. If you want to get out and about a car is essential but if you are happy relaxing around the pool there is a shop and restaurant on site. The villa is very comfortably furnished and has everything you require right down to hair dryers in every room! The garden has lovely flowering bushes all round giving total privacy. The pool was kept sparkling clean and was a huge hit, even in the evenings after we had used the built in bar b que in the gazeebo to make supper.
