About the home

Helena Villa No 1 is a beautiful, detached property located in a very quiet, residential area of Akbuk close to wooded hills that rise up from the bay. Approx 1.5km from unspoilt local beaches, the villa enjoys spectacular
views of the surrounding countryside.

A large private pool (31ft x 13ft) is situated on the south side of the property, benefiting from the sun for most of the day. Mature pine trees provide some welcome shade for a couple of hours in the late afternoon. The walled garden has a large patio area with sun loungers as well as newly planted borders with scented shrubs and palms. The access road is quiet, so ensuring a peaceful and tranquil holiday.

The property is stylishly furnished throughout with solid, locally hand-crafted, wood furniture (no mdf here!).
Cool white walls provide a perfect background for the colourful textiles which decorate each room.

Each room has an outside balcony. The one overlooking the pool is ideal for al fresco dining, being furnished with a large rustic dining table and 6 chairs. The roof terrace commands stunning panoramic views and is ideal for evening relaxation - whilst being serenaded by cicadas.

Rental rate is inclusive of all electricity, gas, water and weekly cleaning. A £100 non-refundable deposit is payable for one week's rental on booking. Additional weeks will be charged at £50 per week. The deposit will be refunded within 2 weeks of your departure from the villa. Any breakages, damages or extra cleaning will be deducted from this deposit. Final payment is due 8 weeks prior to start of rental.

The Aegean Coast region

Akbuk village is located in the south west Aegean. The area is renowned for its beautiful, turquoise sea and fresh, clean air. There are many archeological sites and areas of historical interest, such as Ephesus and the Temple of Apollo to keep sight-seers amused. And of course there is the outstanding natural beauty of tree-lined beaches, lakes, olive groves and pine clad hills. All this provides the perfect haven for a tranquil, relaxing holiday.

Akbuk is a quiet fishing village where you will find all the local amenities you require without the noise and hustle and bustle of a commercial seaside town.There is a local market every Friday offering everything from fresh fruit and fish to jewelery and spices. The local harbour offers trips around nearby bays where you can swim and enjoy a picnic in a secluded setting. The beach is lined with restaurants and cafes offering good value for money Turkish cuisine.

Akbuk is located betweem Izmir airport to the north and Bodrum airport to the south.
Transfer time from Izmir Adnan Menderes airport is 1hour 45mins.
Bodrum's Milas airport is nearer and transfer time is just over the hour. Charter flights are frequent to this airport from most destinations in the U.K.
Roads are good and directions easy to follow. For guests who do not wish to drive we can arrange airport
transfers and delivery of rental car to villa. Please enquire regarding pricing.

“Home from Home” The Villa was comfortable and had everything in it that was needed for a relaxing and carefree holiday. It was clean, comfortable and the continued maintenance of the pool, supply of drinking water, linen change and other services provided were excellent. The restaurants in Akbuk offered good food at very reasonable prices. The locals made us feel very welcome and were extremely friendly, the only downside was the lack of variety of the food. A trip to Ephesus is a must, it takes half a day to walk around and was a wonder to behold. This should be followed by a visit to the small village of Sirince. We had lunch in the Sirincem restaurant, this was one of the best meal we had on our holiday. Driving along the costs roads we found some great beaches and local bars. The beautiful views and friendly locals created a clam atmosphere that allowed us to take time to eat drink and relax. Our 3 Children (13, 12 & 11) enjoyed the whole holiday, there was plenty to keep everyone happy. We all agreed that we would return Turkey.

“Very comfortable attractive villa, beautiful swimming pool,” A very comfortable attractive villa with everything we needed provided. Everything very well looked after and very helpful neighbours who maintain the pool. Swimming pool was beautiful and very necessary for cooling off as it was very hot. Lovely balcony for the evening - (it was too hot and windy to sit on the roof) A good base for visiting some of the many historical sites around such as Ephesus, Temple of Apollo, Priene etc.
