The Aegean Coast region

The Akbuk region caters for everone's taste!

Wether you love the sea, or nature, crave for peace and quit or want to be active, everything is possible here.

The land breathes the history of over thousands of years of civilization and everywhere you look , you see the silent witnesses thereof. Some of these must-see sites are very close to the house: the Apollo temple at Didim, the settlements of Milete and Priene (especially Milete is worthwhile) and of course, one of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World: Ephesus.

At only 5 minutes from the villa you'll discover the amazing Bafa Lake surrounded by the impressive Latmos mountains. Besides offering perfect hiking opportunities, the area is a world-reknown bird refuge boasting more than 225 different species.

But much more is to be done in the area: Also the sun worshippers find all they can wish for with beautiful beaches, water-sports and 2 water parks and off course your own private swimming pool!

Embark on boat trips around nearby scenic bays and coves,

Enjoy diving, snorkeling, surfing, and all other water sports you can think of in nearby Altinkum.

Why not catch the ferry to Kos or Samos on a spectacular daytrip to Greece?

Looking for bargains? The Soke outlet stores are only 15 minutes from the villa and offer designer labels at very affordable prices.

don't forget to visit the local market to practice your haggling skills. Especially the market in Altinkum is an experience you don't want to miss.

The climate of the Aegean Region is Mediterranean at the coast, with hot, dry summers and mild to cool winters.

Akbuk

Akbuk is still a relatively small and traditional Turkish fishing village located on Turkeys most beautiful Aegean coastline. A number of tourists have discovered the stunning region with its gently sloping mountains and beautiful secluded bays. This resulted in plenty of amenities and modern facilities becoming available to the visitors without loosing its original scent.

Strolling along the beautiful beachfront you'll discover plenty of bars and restaurants, offering fresh and delicious food for all tastes at remarkably low prices. At the little, colourful marina you have the opportunity to buy freshly caught fish or embark on a boat trip exploring the lovely bays and vistas that surround Akbük.

The weekly market on Friday offers seasonal fruits and vegetables, all fresh from the fields and too cheap to haggle!

Just minutes from the house is a horse-riding school where you can either choose to discover the surrounding pristine nature on horseback or perfect your riding skills.

Every activity or experience you look for can be offered in nearby Altinkum, approx 15 minutes by car or local dolmus. This is a very lively resort with 3 main beaches, a small funfair and numerous cafes and restaurants, either along the brandnew beachwalk or in the center.

Here you can enjoy a variety of watersports, tours and boat trips, or why not relax and treat yourself to the experience of a Turkish Bath.

A fast ferry (Seacat) takes you in 50 minutes to the Greek island of Kos for a day of exploration, shopping and relaxing on this cosy little piece of Greece.

All in all the perfect setting to reload the batteries and experience the holiday of your life!

"Great Villa holiday"

We had a wonderfull holiday, the villa is outstanding. The photos on this site do not do this Villa justice, it stands alone, you overlook the village below amazing views.
The area was great, local shop and bar where the staff are helpfull and they had a BBQs nights.
Akbuk is a relaxing village which comes to life at night, you will need a car to see the great beaches, drive through Akbuk and find the local outstanding beaches only the locals go to.
have a turkish shave ouch its still brings tears to my eyes.
The owner is easy to deal with and has employed a great management team in Jackie & Bill two great people, very helpful made the holiday experiance run smothly, with just very minor issues, which were nothing like we have experianced with major holiday companies.
I would recommend this villa to anyone it was a real joy staying there, missing it already and we have only been back two days. we will be going again.
