About the home

Location,Location,Location !!!Galler Villa is in a superb location in Akbuk for anyone wanting either a relaxing holiday but who wants to be close enough to all the local amenities such as shops,restaurants and bars.There are 2 double bedrooms, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and 1 bunk bedroom. There is a large lounge with an open plan diningroom/kitchen with all you need to cook any of the local produce you may have bought at the weekly market. There are 2 en-suites , 1 main bathroom and a cloakroom on the ground floor, also a laundryroom for your washing needs.Tables ,chairs and bar-b-que are available for dining alfresco on one of the terraces should you wish to eat at home. The property provides spacious living for up to 8 people. Please feel free to contact me with any queries regarding the villa or surrounding areas.

The sea front is 150m and the small fishing harbour approx 5mins wallk where all the fish caught is brought in to service the local restaurants and beyond. All day boat trips can be taken from the harbour along with evening fishing trips and watching the fantastic sunsets over the horizon. The nearby Holiday resort of Altinkum is only 30mins away by Dolmus for those of you who want more night-life or a busy shopping venue.

Sight seeing trips to many of Turkeys ancient attractions can also be organised locally for those wishing to take in some of the Turkish culture like Ephesus,Miletos or the Temple of Appollo being close by.

The villa has all amenities with its own utility wash room, cooking facilities TV only operating with DVD which are available or you can bring your own choice. Everything is available for your use at the villa to make it your home from home in Turkey.

The Villa is set in its own natural stone walled grounds and surrounded by Olive trees giving it exceptional privacy, yet being close to all local amenities within short walking distance. The gardens are filled with beautiful exotic plants and fruit trees giving displays of flowering depending on what time of the year you visit. The pool is superb and fairly generous in size to chill out or have fun. It really is a tranquil setting to provide a relaxing laid back holiday. Akbuks picturesque fishing Harbour with all its restaurants/bars is a short walk away so no need for home cooking, also boat/fishing trips can be arranged from the harbour to visit the surrounding bays/small islands not reached by car. Akbuk has everything for laid back family holiday which I'm sure you will agree after your own visit.

Further details

One hand and one bath towel will be provided for each guest for use in the villa but would appreciate guests using their own beach towels.
Your beds will be made up with clean sheets and the villa will be cleaned before your arrival and on departure.
There is an automatic washing m/c for your own use should you require it to freshen up towels/sheets etc.

The Aegean Coast region

The Aegean region is steeped in history with many local ancient places of interest to visit. From May until Oct you can virtually guarantee days of continuous sunshine with very little if any rain. The tourist resort of Altinkum with its may bars,nightclubs and restaurants is only 30 mins away where they also have a superb beach where you can enjoy all types of water sport fun.

On the outskirts of Altinkum is the water park with many slides etc for all day fun for adults and children alike.

The Akbuk area

Ephesus,Miletos, The Apollo Temple are all within 2 hours drive with many more smaller less know ancient sites within 30mins drive. Golf course approx 1 hours drive.

Aegean Airways,British Airways,Monarch,Easy Jet, Thomas Cook,Thomson,Onur Air,Sky Air,Pegasus all fly into Bodrum and Izmir Airports.

Bodrum being 1 hour from villa and Izmir being approx 1hour 30mins. Transfers can be arranged by mini bus or private taxi.

“Just as good second time round” Our second visit to Galler Villa and it did not disappoint. Property is walking distance to all amenities so no need for a car unless you want to explore outside the area. Accommodation is spacious and of good quality, however we spent most of our time outside on the various terrace areas around the pool. The pool was very well maintained, the pool-man came daily to make sure it was clean. If you like to walk, get up early and take a stroll along the sea front around 7.30-8.30 in the morning. You will be amazed how many people are out jogging, swimming in the sea, making use of the 'gym' equipment situated along the way. On the way back pick up some freshly baked bread from the bakery across the road. The local buses are cheap and frequent. We went across to a beach on the other side of the bay (near the Holiday Resort Hotel) and the bus driver will drop you at the end of the road. Also took trip on one of the local boats - it visits 5 bays where you can swim in the clear waters from the boat. Lunch is included and the drinks priced similar to the local bars. Our biggest find this time was the fish seller on the main street behind Pizza Hait/Garden Restaurant. He has a small outlet on the Friday market as well. For only 1 lira, he will not only clean the fish you select but cook it on the bbq and package it to take away. The sea bass are huge and taste better than any we have had at home. At approx 30 lira (£11-£12) for 4 large fish ready cooked, we went back several times. We came away thinking that as much as we would like to return we should really look at trying somewhere else next year. However, after only two weeks back in the UK, starting to consider booking again for a third time! “WONDERFUL TIME WAS HAD BY ALL” This was our first time in Turkey and definately wont be the last. The villa and pool were superb. Everything we needed to enjoy a really comfortable stay was found at Galla villa. The location to bars,restaurants and the beach was terrific. “Perfect accommodation, perfect location” Excellent, top quality villa situated within walking distance of all amenities. Eating out iso cheap and with so many restaurants to choose from, we ate out most nights but the Friday market is a must for stocking up with fresh fish and local grown produce. The huge prawns we barbequed cost pennies and were delicious. Already booked for 2012 and cant wait to get there. As tempting as it is to simply relax by the pool, it is worth hiring a car for a few days to see some of the countryside and places of interest. Donna and Sirdar at Pasa Bar will make you very welcome and they have entertainment on a Friday (best to book as it gets busy!). Ask them about the floating fish restaurant for a real treat.
