The Lapland region
Several fells and two Lappish villages make up the area of Yllas. At 718m, Ylläs fell itself is one of the highest fells in Lapland. käslompolo village is located on the northern side of the the Ylläs fell and Ylläsjärvi village on the southern side.
Snow normally begins to fall by mid-October. By mid-March snow averages 60 to 90 cm deep. But as the days darken, the snow and the Aurora Borealis lighten the polar nights and Lapland becomes truly magical.
This beautiful and magical place creates an atmosphere for Christmas that only dreams are made of. Santa Claus can be found at the newly opened â??Lap villageâ?? in Akaslompolo, where you can see Reindeer, enjoy a Lappish meal and buy handicrafts. For the young oneâ??s Santa will personally visit your cabin on a sleigh pulled by one of his Reindeer.
The snow melts at the beginning of May to herald the start of Spring. From under the snow the soft green landscape of Lapland reveals itself.
Summer in Lapland is pleasantly warm and you can escape to peace and solitude in a land where Reindeer out number the locals.
Autumn is a popular time to visit by the Finns for blazing colours of nature.
Our log cabins open out directly onto the forest where you are surrounded by nature. This provides a tranquil and relaxing location.
