La Recampade is situated in the heart of the Provencal town of Trets but the peaceful location gives the impression you are in the countryside with just the singing of the ciccadas to keep you company.
La Recampade is ideally located for visiting Provence. The Mediterranean coast and the picturesque town of Cassis with its beaches, fishing port and shimmering turquoise water is just a half hour drive away. Inland you can explore the vineyards, lavendar fields and the famous hill top villages of the Luberon to the north and the Var region to the east.
If you continue eastwards, you will reach the chic resorts of St Tropez, Cannes, Nice etc along the Cote d'Azur. Alternatively you can discover the Roman history of the region at Arles, Nimes and Orange and see the famous Roman aqueduct at Pont du Gard. See the famous bridge immortalised in the children's song at Avignon along with the Popes palace.
After a days hectic sightseeing, what better way to relax than by your own private pool in the shade of a cherry tree with a glass of local rosé wine and a guide book planning your adventures and discoveries for the following day.

The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Bouches-du-Rhone region
La Recampade is perfectly located for exploring Provence. Aix En Provence is one of the most popular cities in France. Dating back to Roman times, it has developed around the natural thermal springs. It was the home of the artist Cézanne and is famed for it's many historical buildings, winding cobbled streets and numerous cafés and restaurants.
The Meditarranean coast is easily accessible, from the Camargue nature reserve in the west onto the unspoilt beaches of the Cote Bleu to the multicultural city of Marseille. Explore the Calanques (the fjords of Provence) by boat or on foot. Visit the quaint fishing ports of Cassis, Bandol and Sanary. The famous Cote d'Azur resorts of St. Tropez, Cannes and Antibes are just over an hours drive.
Inland, to the north of Trets is the Luberon where you can visit the spectacular hilltop villages of Menerbes, Gordes, Roussillon and take the opportunity to sample the wine produced in this famous region.
Aix En Provence / Trets area
Trets is an old but bustling Provencal town with several cafés, restaurants and numerous bakeries selling fresh breads and delicious pastries. Experience traditional French life at the weekly market where the 'Tretsois' (towns people) come to buy home-grown fruit and vegetables and other locally produced specialities such as cheese, saucisson, olive oil, honey etc.
Watch the locals play boules whilst enjoying a cold drink at one of the numerous cafés or maybe join them - the Tretsois are very friendly. Explore the original old village with its meandering narrow streets and visit the restored castle (now the tourist office, exhibition centre and wine museum). Drop into the local Cave or one of the surrounding vineyards to sample and perhaps buy the regional wine.
Despite being just 20 minutes from the cosmopolitan city of Aix, Trets is an unspoilt and traditional Provencal town where you can experience real French life.
