Aguilas offers a good variety of outdoor activities, from golf, climbing or hiking through areas of splendid beauty and magnificent scenery, to diving in warm waters rich with aquatic life. Clear and translucent waters protected by an abundance of flora and fauna guarantee each dive to be an unforgettable experience.

Aguilas area

On the cultural scene, Agulilas offers art exhibits, concerts, artisan demonstrations, theatre and so much more. The Carnival de Aguilas, which has been celebrated for the past 200 years, offers ingenious costumes of all shapes and colours. The entire town is out on the streets for one of the largest shows in the country.

A modern and well planned town, it is located on a site whose history dates back thousands of years, the view from the impressive castle San Juan de las Águilas, which was used by Greeks, Romans and the Moors, is truly marvellous. The town with its ample harbour, its walkways along the sea and the serenity of its bays of Levante and Poniente, at the foot of the hill.

The local cuisine is based "on fish" and the most famous dishes are "Moraga de sardinas y caramel", "Caldo pescao", "Arroz a banda", shellfish, picked sardines, prawns, lobsters,...And of course lots of other great food choices to suit everyone.

Refundable breakages deposit of £100 required prior to arrival, to be refunded within two weeks of your departure (subject to satisfactory property inspection).

"I have just returned from a fabulous holiday staying at Los Collados Golf. The holiday was a thoroughly relaxing and fun experience from start to finish, mainly down to the excellent pre-trip information pack provided, the very well equipped and appointed apartment, and the delightful, relatively unspoilt, surrounding towns and coastline.

The holiday started right from Murcia Airport where we quickly and easily picked up our hire car and following the clear instructions in the information pack, found our way directly to Aguilas in around an hour, using the scenic and practically deserted toll road ( have your nine euros handy ! ).

The local property agent was very welcoming and showed us straight to the apartment where we parked right outside and in no time at all were unpacked and feeling right at home. Stepping out onto the sunny private terrace, there was a stunning view over the surrounding area, right over to the coast and the castle high on it's promontory in the centre of Aguilas. The terrace also looks down on the secluded swimming pool which looked so inviting we had to go for a dip straight away! Most days we had this area to ourselves and it was like having your own private pool, very relaxing!

It was just a short car ride into Aguilas where there are all the shops, bars and restaurants you might need. This is a truly Spanish area with very little English spoken and it's great fun to have a go at making yourself understood with the odd word of Spanish and the friendly locals will be happy to help you out. The town itself is surrounded by lovely beaches and many interesting places to see and explore.

I would thoroughly recommend Los Collados Golf to those looking to switch off from their daily routine and relax in the sun for a few days. The flight from the UK is so short that in just a few hours you can be in a completely different world, sitting in the sun, admiring the view with glass if sangria in hand ! " Teresa
