The Costa Calida/Murcia region
This is one of the hottest regions in spain with 350 days of sunshine, with the beautiful beaches of Aguilas just 10 minutes away. Lorca only 6 minutes from Purias which hosts some wonderful Baroque architecture, and includes some of the most beaurtiful churches you will see in spain. The hilltop castle has just been renovated and is a major tourist attraction. the Semana Santa procession is televisied nationially as it is one of the biggest events in the Murcia region.
Aguilas area
Aguilas has a range of interests including some of the best scuba diving in the region. A fishing harbour where Aguilas with its beautiful beaches and coastal inlets with great offroad beaches to explore. You can purchase fresh fish and soak up the atmosphere of a truly Spanish resort.. There is also a wonderful selection of typical spanish restaurants and bars.
Lorca just a few minutes down the road is one of the most interesting historical towns in the region with Baroque architecutre featured througout. Lorca has the new thriving town with top high street shops including many designer outlets but just streets away is the old part of town with many character building and churches. There is a new golf course in the process of construction just 3 minutes from the house and is due to open to the public spring 2010, there are several other courses within 30 minutes.
