Home description
Casa Roja Bed and Breakfast lies situated in the foothills of the Siera Del Cantar alongside the Costa Calida. We offer a choice of 3 independent rooms, each with an en suite bathroom and private terrace or garden, from which you can explore the unspoilt coastline, meander mountain paths, or simply relax in the communal gardens.
Evening meals, prepared by a professional chef, are inclusive of room rates for weekly bookings, or for a minimum 3 night stay for parties of 4 or more.
To cool down in summer, there´s a large swimming pool and the sea is a short 10 minute drive away. Virtually empty country roads allow for scenic cycling, while the nearby town of Águilas offers a variety of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

The Costa Calida/Murcia region
The Costa Calida in Murcia is one of the least developed coastlines in all the Mediterranean, let alone Spain. There´s a average year round temperature of 25º celcius with limited rainfall and desertlike vegetation similar to the north coast of Africa.
The nearby town of Lorca hosts a series of spectacular easter week (semana santa) processions through the centre of town and a summer nights arts and music festival with international acts performing under the stars in the grounds of the castle which overlooks Lorca. The town itself features many examples of Spanish baroque architecture.
Aguilas / Marina de Cope area
The fishing port of Aguilas stays virtually unchanged through the seasons, being a normal working town. There´s a seaside promenade which stretches along the town´s coast and the lush central square, Plaza España, offers several areas to sit for an al fresco coffee, beer or ice cream. The weekly market is where all the town gathers to stock up on anything from clothes to olives and roasted almonds.
Aguilas is famous for its scuba diving, with sunken ships and underwater caves to explore. There are several schools on hand to help the novice. In February, the town goes into a frenzy with its carnival and the entire town turned out in fancy dress.
How to get there
The guest house is easily reached thanks to the recently opened autopista Cartegena - Vera (AP-7) with direct links to all 3 of the areas nearby airports: Alicante, Murcia and Almeria. Murcia San Javier airport is the nearest at 40 minutes, with Almeria and Alicante clocking in at nearer 90 minutes. Both Ryanair and Easyjet fly to all 3 airports.
