Agios Gordios is a pretty traditional seaside village on the south west coast of Corfu. The bay has a 1.8 kilometre long beach, mostly sandy, with a busy area close to the village, with many bars and tavernas directly on the beach. To the north the beach is more secluded, if you prefer to get away from the crowds.
Agios Gordios has all the amenities you might need on your holiday - a variety of shops, a 24 hours doctor's surgery, many bars and tavernas offering a variety of international cuisines at prices to suit most budgets. There are several car/scooter/bicycle and quad bike hire shops, and a regular bus service to Corfu Town, which takes about 40 minutes.
The village is surrounded by beautiful mountains covered in olives anc cypresses. There are several other traditional villages within an easy walk of Agios Gordios.
In Agios Gordios itself, there are nightclubs, dance bars, kayaking, parasailing, fishing, boat trips. So the choice is yours - a quiet relaxing beach holiday, or a lively action packed affair, or a mixture of the two.
There is also much to see and do on the rest of the island of Corfu. Explore the historic old town of Corfu, climb Mount Pantokrator, take a car or quad bike and explore the island's many beaches and places of interest. Walk the Corfu Trail, a well marked 220 kilometre walk from south to north which visits every part of the island. Play golf, go riding, play tennis.

The Ionian Islands region
SOMETHING ABOUT CORFU
CORFU has more days of SUNSHINE than any other island in the Ionian. Its mild weather and sunshine makes it an ALL YEAR ROUND holiday destination. It is a cosmopolitan island where you will find everything from amazing beaches to medieval castles, throbbing night-life to deserted beaches and sleepy villages. You can enjoy swimming, horse riding, golf, scuba diving, snorkelling, cliff diving and of course relaxing!
The 18 hole, par 73 golf course (6,800 yards), designed by Britain's world famous golf course architect, Donald Halladine, is located in the ROPA VALLEY approximately 15 minutes drive away by car.
Also a 15 minute drive away you will find the AQUALAND water park, one of the largest in Europe and a great day out for all the family.
Horse riding is available only 15 minutes away.
You can play tennis in town.
Corfu is one of the greenest and most beautiful islands in Greece. It combines natural beauty together with a cosmopolitan life style thanks to its many visitors over the centuries. The mixture of Greek, Venetian, British and French have influenced the local architecture, culture and food, making the island and the town one of the most attractive in the Mediterranean.
The town has two major fortresses as well as numerous small squares and fountains. The most famous is the Liston Square which lies behind the Venetian fortress, and is home to the island's only cricket pitch.
Corfu is great for: fishing, walking holidays, rural / countryside retreats, beach or lakeside relaxation, winter sun breaks, nightlife, city breaks and cycling holidays.
In the village of Agios Gordios there are small super markets, bakeries, car and motor bike rentals, a Tourism Office, a Medical Care Centre, cash machines and plenty of night life. The hotel provides postal services and can also dispense cash for a small fee.
The beach is one of the best and most famous on Corfu Island.
There are many tavernas and bars in and around the village, several of them right on the beach. They offer a wide range of cuisines including traditional Greek, Mexican, Italian and international. All provide high levels of service and quality at prices to meet most budgets.
All sorts of water sports and scuba diving are available on the beach. Come and enjoy the Greek sun and the Greek life style in Agios Gordios!!!
Agios Gordios is a hidden gem on the south west coast of Corfu. Our hotel is built on a hill so this may not be the resort for you if you are not reasonably fit. That aside, the village itself is friendly and the views will take your breath away. You can't help but be impressed by the view that greets you the first time you go down to the beach front. You get to the beach via the main street which runs down to the beachfront, or by the hotel's private staircase. On your left, a shingle and pebble beach runs to the north for about a kilometer with plenty of possibilities for being on your own. To the right there is a beautiful sandy stretch with several bars and tavernas catering for all tastes and pockets right on the beach. If you have children then it is possibly best to go to the sandy beach which slopes gently and is shallow for quite a way out.
Walking back up the main street you can find a number of family run restaurants, clothes shops and of course tourist novelty shops. Agios Gordios has a true village atmosphere. There are lots of small fruit and vegetable shops, mini markets, cafes and play areas for children. Agios Gordios is an excellent choice for an unforgettable holiday.
The nearby villages of Sinarades, Kato Garouna, the fishing villages of Pentati, Fiorula, Paramonas Beach and Pavliana are all within walking distance. There you can meet and spend time with the locals and sample their home-made wine and food.
To sum it up, Agios Gordios is real find. Because of the physical nature of the area it can't be spoilt by over-building. It is beautiful and as long as you are not looking for two miles of disco's and pubs this is the place for you, especially if you appreciate beautiful scenery, fabulous food and a wonderful beach and genuinely friendly people. And yes the dog does go to sleep in the middle of the street at night.
We look forward to seeing you!
