The County Fermanagh region

The beautiful county of Fermanagh is a visitor’s paradise with wide stretches of water and secluded bays surrounded by a patchwork of green fields, undulating hillsides and fresh forests.

Located in North Western Ireland, Fermanagh's primary focus is Lough Erne, made up of the lower and the upper Loughs. Where the two Loughs meet stands Enniskillen. Enniskillen shares close European links with Germany through a twinning relationship with Brackwede (a suburb of Bielefeld).

There is much to see and do from history and heritage to shopping, visitor attractions and crafts to outdoor and indoor activities.

Plunge into the magical underworld of the Marble Arch Caves - at this award-winning attraction, the fascinating guided tour includes an underground boat journey through this seductive realm of stalagmites and stalactites. One of Europes finest show caves allowing visitors to explore a fascinating underworld of rivers, waterfalls, winding passages and loft chambers. Open subject to weather.

Devenish Island Monastic site - A 12th century round tower and ruined Augustinian abbey.

Castle Balfour - built in 1618 by Sir James Balfour. Open all year.

Castle Coole - Surrounded by its stunning landscape park on the edge of Enniskillen, this majestic 18th century house was created to impress. House tour available.

Crom Demesne - A 2000 acre demesne containing ancient woodland, tranquil islands, estate cottages and Old Crom Castle. Discover historic buildings, a tea-room, gift shop, exhibitions and fishing opportunities.

Enniskillen Castle - overlooking Lough Erne in Enniskillen, once the stronghold of Gaelic Maguire chieftains. Fermanagh County Museum has award winning displays.

Florence Court -This mansion is surrounded by a large area of parkland, garden and woodland. Explore the Pleasure Grounds and the Walled Garden in this magnificent estate.
Florence Court Forest Park - Open daily.
