Home description
A new villa with stunning views over the olive groves to Elounda and the sea, a few minutes walk to the beach, shops and tavernas. Private pool, balconies and terrace ideal for al fresco dining. An idyllic place for a relaxing holiday, ideal for families or friends.
With all amenities close at hand a car is not essential. The village has a couple of Blue Flag beaches, there are boats trips to the famous island of Spinalonga, the subject of Victoria Hislop’s best selling novel “The Island”, walk across the Venetian Causeway to the island of Kolikitha and explore its many coves and small beaches, or take one of the frequent air conditioned buses to Plaka or the regional capital Aghios Nikolaos. There are travel companies in Elounda offering a wide variety of day trips all over the island. A couple of days car hire would enable a visit to the Lassithi Plateau and Zeus’s Cave, the palaces at Malia and of course Knossos, plus the traditional local village of Kritsa.
Alternatively, just relax, enjoy swimming in your own pool, a book on the terrace and after all that hard work, an afternoon siesta in the air conditioned comfort of your room.

The Crete region
Crete is the most southerly island in Europe and offers visitors a superb climate with many Blue Flag beaches and warm seas. The Cretan people are wonderfully hospitable and most people in the resorts and larger towns speak very good English. The island is steeped in history and offers many fascinating archaeological sites, museums and places of interest to visit.
The scenery is spectacular and there are several gorges that can be visited. The size of the island offers a great variety of excursions and almost all interests can be catered for. The Cretan cuisine is excellent offering fresh fish, local lamb which grazes on wild sage and thyme and a great selection of locally grown fruit and vegetables. The Cretan diet is thought the healthiest in Europe.
Aghios Nikolaos / Elounda area
Elounda is a fishing village originally made famous as the star of the TV series "Who pays the Ferryman" and the Disney film "The Moonspinners". The island of Spinalonga is a short boat trip from the harbour, recently featured in Victoria Hislop's bestseller "The Island" this former Venetian Fortress and Leper Colony is definitely worth a visit. The quaint village of Plaka is 5 kms down the road (an easy bike ride) and is a great place for a walk a swim and a fresh fish lunch. Elounda has a couple of blue flag beaches and several interesting walks. There are a good range of shops, bars, restaurants and tavernas and a couple of nightclubs.
The regional capital Aghios Nikolaos is 7 Kms away - easily accessed by bus or taxi and this is definitely worth a couple of visits. by day take in the Port and Marina, browse the shops, visit the art gallery and museum and have a swim on one of it's beaches. By night there are many bars restaurants and late night venues to tempt you.
