Villa Ozymandias is set in a quiet elevated position giving a country feel yet is only five minutes from some of the most beautiful beaches in Crete. Shops and restaurants line the main route of the village of Istron below. The bustling town of Aghios Nikolaos is just a ten minute drive away. The villa is new and has two beautifully appointed luxury studio apartments each sleeping two adults for guests to enjoy relaxation with stunning scenery and breathtaking views over the sea and mountains that surround the property from every aspect. Watching the sunrise straight ahead and the sunset over the mountains is a must!

The Crete region
Crete is divided into four prefectures, Lassithi prefecture at the far eastern end, is where Villa Oxymandias is situated. The scenery here is stunning, dramatic mountains almost always make up the back drop to beautiful sandy beaches. There are numerous archeaological sites within easy reach, showing remnants of the Minoan civilization thousands of years ago. The climate is wonderful with hot sunny days , long warm balmy nights throughout the summer and mild winters.
Aghios Nikolaos / Istron area
The island is so diverse that there are endless activities all within easy reach of Villa Ozymandias. The flora and fauna is extraordinary and organised walks into the mountains to see wild orchids or Griffin vultures are available throughout the year. Elounda is a short distance away, once a small fishing village, now a popular tourist spot and not far from there, Plaka made famous by the award winning novel The Island. Plaka is where the daily boats took supplies to the leper colony of Spinalonga just a 5 minute trip away. Walking and cycling are popular activities here and the beaches are too numerous to mention.
