The Aquitaine / Dordogne / Lot et Garonne region
Prayssas is situated in the hills between the rivers Lot & Garrone.this is the region of fruit & Wine & in July a mass of bright yellow sunflowers. But its also a region steeped in History, the hundred years war began here. Culture also feaures highly with art galleries & music festivals catering for all tastes. There are many bastide villages & towns to visit & during July & August they hold weekly night markets with outdoor dining & music. Prayssas holds there's on wednesday evenings. There are several riverside beaches nearby at Castelmoron, Clairac & Aiguillion. Boats are available for hire locally. Take a trip along the canal & follow in Rick Steins footsteps Horseriding & golf available locally.
Agen area
Excellent markets nearby at Saint Livrade, Aiguillion,Villeneurve Sur Lot & Agen selling a massive selection of fruit & vegatables all grown locally. Visit the Knights temple village of Temple sur Lot stroll by the river,have lunch in the impressive Commanderie & wander in the Waterlily gardens (original suppliers of Claude Monet) without moving your car. Visit the local Vineyards for tasters & tours at Buzet in the morning, lunch in Buzet's excellent restaurant & then take a boat along the canal or river Baise in the afternoon. Armanac tours & tasting within 30kms Parc Wallaby 25mins.
