Welcome in Sgurbio

The location of the cottage ist very special. The view is spectacular. The house is far away from all the civilization noise and you feel very close to the its exceptional nature.

The house has a living room with direct access to the kitchen. There are six bedrooms of different sizes with one to three beds.

The house can accommodate groups of up to ten people. The salon is heated in the cooler months with a wood stove. There are showers in the bathroom and under the open sky, with both hot and cold running water. The separate toilet is located just a few steps beside the house in a Pagliaro, a field stone grotto with a small dome. Power supply (220V) is available in all rooms.

The kitchen is equipped with gas cooker and fridge and everything you need. The barbecue area with natural stones invites you to sit together. The interior is simple and functional. Cushions, deck chairs and a hammock are available.

The house is supplied by three rainwater cisterns with water. The house is a property for aficionados.

It belongs to the service that you will be picked up from the ship/harbour on your arrival. Because Alicudi one of the last car-free paradise, we recommend for the transportation of luggage to take a donkey.

Aeolian Islands

Alicudi has only about 100 residents. It is the smallest and pristine island of the Aeolian Islands. The archipelago was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Only a third of the 5.2 sq km island is cultivated. The volcano is extinct since 15,000 years ago. The island is 675 meters high and the Tyrrhenian sea is unusually deep. Therefore, the quality of the water is excellent and snorkelling and diving is great fun. Instead of roads and cars, there are footpaths and centuries-old stone stairs. For the load transports donkeys are responsible.

From May to November you can go swimming: Hiking busbars are recommended all year round. The cliffs are spectacular, the bird and plant life unique. From February to June blooming wild flowers all over the island, in the fall you can find tasty mushrooms.

"Peace and Harmony ;-)"

Man findet jede Menge nette Menschen. Die Möglichkeit, bei Rosina Essen vorzubestellen, sich beraten und bekochen zu lassen. Frische Fische auf dem Grill zu garen sich von Fischern schöne Plätze zeigen zu lassen... ein wunderschöner Urlaub.

"beautiful"

We had a very enjoyable two week stay. The house is very beautiful and has wonderful views of the other islands. The house is beautifully renovated in the historic style and it is very suitable for holiday making.
