The Menorca region
Menorca is a natural paradise with marvellous beaches and coves. Much of the island has been called an open air museum including Roman and prehistoric artefacts. The magnificent port of Mao (Mahon) is the second deepest in the world, after Pearl Harbor.
It's a popular haunt also with walkers, cyclists and bird watchers taking in the national nature reserves and the beautiful coastline are amongst many areas to explore.These are just a few of the many activities that Menorca has to offer but don't leave without visiting the lovely city of Ciutadella which was the original capital before the British occupation.
The climate in Menorca is typically Mediterranean with mild wet winters and dry warm summers
Addaya / Addaia area
Port Addaia is a picuresque small port on the North East Coast of Menorca with restaurants and bars and shops in the centre of the village.Tennis court and internet facilities are available locally . The dive school in Addaia operates PADI courses with try/dive and recreational diving around the local coast and islands. Addaia is also ideal for a boat where you can easily reach little coves and beautiful beaches. Boats can be hired from Nautical Puig in the centre of the village. The nearest local beach is Na Macaret 0.5 km and the resort of Arenal d'en Castell is only 5 mins drive with its lovely horseshoe-shaped beach. Son Parc with its 18 hole golf course is only 10 mins drive. The entire North Coast has astonishing natural beaches like Mongofre or Cala Pregonda. Alayor is a village inland close to Addaya where you can go horse riding.
At Fornells only 15 mins drive you'll find a renowned sailing/windsurfing school and a weekly market which is also a feature in Mahon (also 15 mins drive from Addaia) along with spectacular harbour views as well as great shops!.
