Home description

This is a most attractive architect-designed villa in a lovely location. The accommodation is on several levels and affords a degree of separation and privacy for say two-family occupancy. The kitchen is equipped to a very high standard.

The villa overlooks a marina on a beautiful Mediterranean inlet. The nearest sea bathing is at the wide, enclosed horse-shoe beach of Arenal d'en Castell a few minutes drive away as well as the small beach at Na Macaret with the crystal clear waters of Cala Moli adjacent to Addaia. The villa is prepared for your arrival and all linen and towels are provided and changed weekly. A welcome food pack is available as are a 2nd cot or high chair at a small charge. Stair gates are supplied.

Menorca's 18 hole golf course at Son Parc is a few minutes drive away. A Diving School operating from the marina provides PADI courses (within a week's visit), try-dive and recreational diving, around the local coast and islands. Wind-surfing, water-ski-ing and dinghy-sailing courses are available locally. There are several yacht charter companies in Menorca. Menorca has profuse flora and fauna, especially of bird life, and offers a wide variety of quiet country walks.

Much of the Island has been called an open-air museum including e.g Roman and pre-historic artefacts abound.

The Menorca region

MINORCA, second largest of the Balearic Islands, and the most easterly part of Spain, has an individuality and history that set it apart from other members of the group. The key to its character lies in its deep and sheltered harbour, Port Mahon, one of the finest in Europe, which brought it into contact with many of the ancient Mediterranean civilisations. With its roots in the Eastern Mediterranean (its unique megalithic buildings have affinities with Egypt and Crete), it did not become Spanish until the fourteenth century. In the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries-again because of its port Britain, France and America formed strong links with the island, from which Minorcans once again experienced new ways of life.
Visitors come to enjoy its sunshine and its 120 superb beaches, at some of which one can still be alone. The island is one of unusual charm, and remains unsophisticated and free from the tensions of modern life.
La isla blanca y azul (the white and blue island) Minorcans like to call it, referring to its trim white houses and turquoise sea. The contrasts of light and colour in sea, land and sky-at times as vivid and dazzling as a stage-set captivate artists, and can induce a sense of complete relaxation, even of unreality. Silences can be profound, broken only by the sound of distant waves lashing against rocks, or of a human voice carried on the wind. [MINORCA by David Wilson Taylor]

Addaya / Addaia area

Addaia is a quiet haven for a stress-free holiday. Immediately in front of the villa there is a small port from where diving and fishing expeditions are available. Spectacular views are to be enjoyed of the islands from the local coastal walks. There is a small centre with shops, bars and restaurants. The whole area is surrounded by pine forests.
There is an 18 hole golf course in Son Parc, a few minutes drive away.

Guestbook

We have sadly returned from a simply wonderful week at your lovely villa in Addaia. The weather was beautiful and we spent many hours enjoying the pool and exploring the whole island and partaking of litres of Sangria. Absolutely fabulous. Thanks so much for providing everything one could possibly want, the villa was perfect and the view to die for. I was always the first one up and I loved a little quiet time in the tower with my books and the sea breeze, before the rabble invaded. So lovely.
