A fascinating stone farmhouse for your unforgettable holiday in the Umbrian countryside: culture & nature all around you…

Casolare L'Arieta is a restored holiday house which was once an old stone farmhouse. Built at the end of the 1600's, in the midst of the Umbrian countryside, it is half way between Todi and Marmore Waterfalls (Valnerina natural reserve) along the ancient Roman way that connects several medieval towns amidst beautiful landscapes untouched by time. The vacation house lays next to Carsulae Roman ruins and the medieval town of Sangemini. It is surrounded by a blooming countryside where it is not rare to come across wild animals such as pheasants, hares, porcupines, foxes, badgers and a wide variety of birds.

Casolare L'Arieta can be rented either as a single holiday house, that comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests, or as independent smaller flats. Independent flats are suitable for smaller groups, or couples. Rates vary depending on the number of guests and are available upon request

The Umbria region

Just east of Tuscany, north of Rome and west of the Marches, right in the middle of Italy, Umbria is a small land whose rolling hills are dotted with castles, fortresses and watchtowers, whose well-preserved hill towns produce world-renowned handmade ceramics, whose many monasteries were founded by a host of local saints, whose valleys are laced with countless gleaming rivers and host Italy's largest lake, Trasimeno, and largest Waterfalls, Marmore. This is why Umbria is also known as “the green hearth of Italy”

Any traveler who goes from Florence to Rome by passes through Umbrian valleys and hills, including such towns as Assisi, Todi Spoleto and Orvieto with their rich heritage of archaeological and artistic treasures, from the Etruscans to the Renaissance and beyond.

In addition to the variety of cultural and natural attractions, Umbria welcomes the visitor its ancient yet living traditions, ranging from handicrafts to gastronomy and the production of the most renowned wines in the world.

Acquasparta

Casolare L'Arieta, right in the middle of Umbria, is the perfect location to visit the whole Region, also allowing one-day trips to Rome and Florence (located at 1 and 2 hours by train).

Sourrounded by the tipical Italian countryside, green hills and medieval castles, it is located at few minutes walking from Carsulae Roman Ruins and at 10 minutes driving from the medieval town of Sangemini, whose historical festival is one of the most renowned and evocative in the country (October).

In the surroundings lies Spoleto (20 minutes driving) with its “Festival dei Due Mondi” (Festival of the Two Worlds), an annual summer music and opera festival held each June to early July. Also Narni, whose historical background inspired the "Narnia Chronicles" is located at only 20 minutes from Casolare L'Arieta. This fascinating medieval town hosts an annual Jazz Festival, very much appreciated in Europe (last week of August).

Last but not least, the natural environment offers a large choice of activities, ranging from cycling and mountain biking, rafting (Marmore Waterfalls at a 20 minutes), trekking (also by mules) … and a wide range of natural trails, including the Franciscan hermitage of La Romita, nestled in the mountains above Casolare L'Arieta and the unspoiled routes of the Monti Martani natural reserve.

"Vorrei raccontarvi"
