The Western Ireland region

The West of Ireland conjures up many images: thatched, whitewashed cottages, a flock of sheep on a narrow road, an emerald green field with a stone wall, or the Atlantic waves crashing into towering cliffs and rocky shores.

Achill Island

Achill is Ireland's largest island, located off the west coast, in County Mayo and is accessible from the mainland by the Michael Davitt Bridge. The island boasts several Blue Flag beaches and numerous watersports can be enjoyed including surfing, windsurfing and canoeing. The Atlantic Drive is well worth enjoying by car or bike and offers stunning scenery.
